  • Patent number: 4566848
Abstract: A device for accurately positioning and orienting a kinescope at a preselected position includes a horizontally moveable but vertically fixed carriage which transports the envelope from a first loading position to a preselected position. A second carriage, which is vertically moveable and horizontally fixed, is centered at the preselected position. The second carriage normally is beneath the horizontally moveable carriage and is raised to lift the envelope from the horizontally moveable carriage. Neck centering members are coupled to the vertically moveable carriage and are boomerang shaped to include oppositely facing internally curved surfaces. The curved surfaces urge the neck of the envelope toward the preselected position irrespective of the tilt of the neck and assure that the neck is centered at the preselected position and that the longitudinal axis of the envelope is parallel to the vertical axis.

  • Patent number: 4478172
Abstract: A changeable liquid reservoir apparatus has a hollow rotating drum, the shaft of which includes an identical coupling on both ends. Both ends of the reservoir include slots which are equidistant from the shaft. Permanently positioned retainer members engage the slots. The shaft of a motor has a coupling which engages the drum coupling. The reservoir, therefore, can be retained in either of two directions and is changeable without the need for tools.

  • Patent number: 4381486
Abstract: An apparatus for checking for electrical frit breakdown in kinescopes includes a support for loosely receiving the kinescope funnel. A floating positioning means closely receives the neck of the kinescope when a kinescope is positioned in the vicinity of the particular location. An orientation mechanism accurately orients the kinescope in the selected orientation and the kinescope is then securely maintained in said location. A fluid-like electrical contact is placed against the outside of the frit seam. A probe having a movable, electrical contact is inserted into the neck of the kinescope and the movable contact brought against the conductive coating on the inside of the envelope. A current flow between the movable contact and the fluid-like contact indicates an electrical frit breakdown.

  • Patent number: 4351265
Abstract: A system for applying conductive paint to the studs of a kinescope faceplate includes oppositely threaded, coaxially aligned screws. Each screw drives a paint reservoir and a paint applicator. Simultaneous rotation of the screws in the same direction causes the applicators and reservoirs to move along the screws in opposite directions. The screws, and the components coupled to them, are movable perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the screws by back-to-back coaxially aligned jacks.
