Patent number: 9425541Abstract: A high power electrical connector is provided for transmitting electrical signals from a pair of cables, such as high current capable cables, to an associated member, such as a dash panel. The high power electrical connector includes an insulative housing and a pair of contact path assemblies therethrough for transmission of the electrical signals. The cables can be rotated relative to the housing and rotated relative to each other via the contact path assemblies. Ground path assemblies are also provided for grounding the cables. The cables can each be rotatable relative to a portion of the respective ground path assembly.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 2013Date of Patent: August 23, 2016Assignee: Molex, LLCInventors: Mark M. Patent number: 6450834Abstract: A connector panel mounting system includes first and second panels each having a given thickness between respective insertion surfaces and mating surfaces thereof and an opening with a locating notch in an edge of the opening. First and second connectors each include dielectric housings insertable from the insertion surfaces of the respective panels to insertion positions into the respective openings. Each housing has an outwardly extending locating flange for passing through the locating notch of the opening in the respective panel as the housing is inserted thereinto. The housing of each connector is movable from its insertion position to a mounted position whereat the locating flange thereof abuts the mating surface of the respective panel. The housing of each connector has a recess aligned with the locating notch of the opening in the respective panel when the housing is in its mounted position.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2001Date of Patent: September 17, 2002Assignee: Molex IncorporatedInventors: Gary E. Patent number: 5542860Abstract: An electrical connector is adapted for surface mounting on a substrate such as a printed circuit board having a mounting hole of a given diameter. The connector includes a dielectric housing having a board-mounting face. An elongated mounting post projects from the board-mounting face for insertion into the mounting hole in the substrate. The elongated mounting post includes a plurality of longitudinally extending, circumferentially spaced, generally rigid ribs defining a circle having a diameter approximately equal to or less than the given diameter of the mounting hole. A plurality of flexible, longitudinally extending ribs are located alternatingly between the generally rigid ribs and define a circle having a diameter at least slightly greater than the given diameter of the mounting hole.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 1995Date of Patent: August 6, 1996Assignee: Molex IncorporatedInventors: Michael A. Bandura, Kirk B. Peloza
