  • Publication number: 20240156401
Abstract: Devices, systems and methods are provided to assist with the monitoring or management of a patient's medical condition, which have one or more sensors sensing individual patient data on or near the patient. This individual patient data corresponds to at least one physiological parameter of the patient and includes a sensor that does not require the patient to apply it or activate it. The data is then transmitted to a processor for computing a risk or status signal that is based on comparison from a baseline related to a patient or related population and an alert or alarm can be generated based on the result of the signal.

  • Publication number: 20240156256
Abstract: An organizer and hanger having a generally rectangular body with a plurality of protrusions/clips/hooks extending from a front surface for securing or handing objects. The body can also have double sided tape applied to tabs on each opposing end or a hole on one or both of the opposing end tabs for engaging a screw or nail. The protrusions/ clips/hooks extend from a front side of the body, where the protrusions/ clips/hooks are generally an ā€œsā€ shape when viewed from the side, where the protrusions/clips/hooks are attached on one end to the body. A small rubber sleeve/pad can be attached to the protrusion/clip/hook portion between the first and second bends along the ā€œsā€ shape. The rubber sleeve/pad increases the coefficient of friction compared to a metal or plastic without a rubber sleeve/pad. This rubber sleeve/pad is critical to providing a better holding force for some objects and noise reduction.

  • Publication number: 20240157052
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for transitioning to sleep mode or otherwise modified glucose target range in automated insulin delivery systems. For example, sleep mode can include a lower glucose target and/or lower and narrower glucose target range because of fewer variables that affect glucose values during sleep such as eating and exercise. Due to increased stability provided by the sleep mode target range, it is desirable to transition to the sleep mode target range as quickly as possible, while ensuring the transition is done safely and does not risk low glucose or hypoglycemia by too quickly switching to the lower and narrower target range. Systems and methods disclosed herein therefore provide various approaches for safely and quickly transitioning to sleep mode or other modified target ranges in order to improve time in range by being more aggressive to get to the lower sleep mode or other target faster without risking hypoglycemia.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to chain monitoring systems and methods. In particular, the chain monitoring system is configured to mount onto a portion of a chain and measure one or more parameters associated with one or more characteristics of the chain. The measured parameters are processed by the chain monitoring system and/or transmitted to a remote system for analysis. The analysis may be used to determine a characteristic and/or change in the characteristic of the chain. In some examples, the characteristic is an elongation value associated with the chain, which can be transmitted to a networked system for analysis, display, and/or control. In some examples, a sensor can be employed to measure one or more characteristics of the chain. The sensor may include, but is not limited to, a strain gauge, an accelerometer, an optical, a sonic, and/or a magnetic sensor.

  • Patent number: 11965714
Abstract: Video sources and inertial sensors are attached to a weapon and to goggles. A computer receives video images from the weapon- and goggles-mounted sources and inertial data from the sensors. The computer calculates a location for an image from the weapon-mounted source within an image from the goggles-mounted source using the inertial sensor data. The sensor-based location is checked (and possibly adjusted) based on a comparison of the images. A database contains information about real-world objects in a field of view of the goggles-mounted source, and is used to generate icons or other graphics concerning such objects.

  • Publication number: 20240100174
Abstract: Conjugation of polymers to proteins, including biomedically-relevant PEGylation, is a promising approach to address a central challenge of biologics and biotech: the lack of protein stability in demanding non-native environments. Application of conjugation is hindered by the lack of atomic level understanding of protein-polymerinteractions, preventing design of conjugates with predicted properties. An integrative structural and biophysical approach was used to address this challenge using a polymer-modified carbohydrate recognition domain of human galectin-3 (Gal3C), a lectin essential for cellular adhesion and potential biologic. Modification with PEG and other polymers dramatically increased Gal3C thermal stability and redirected its unfolding pathway through forming a stable intermediate. Distinct polymer properties which increased protein thermal stability were revealed. Structural details of Gal3C-polymer conjugates revealed by NMR pointed to the important role of polymer localization.
