  • Patent number: 9115816
Abstract: A check valve includes a modulation and/or anti-oscillation feature which, in one aspect, modulates the position of the check valve ball relative to the valve seat to maintain the ball in a continuous flow position allowing pressurized fluid flow past the ball while preventing contact between the ball and the valve seat. In another aspect, an increased mass is selectively coupled to or forms a part of the movable valve member to dampen oscillations of the movable valve member in an open fluid flow position without contact with the valve seat.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 3, 2010
Date of Patent: August 25, 2015
    Assignee: JIFFY-TITE COMPANY, INC.
Inventors: Kip R. Steveley, Steven Zillig, Arthur Murray, James Messecar, Michael A. Lenartowicz, James Caroll
  • Patent number: 9098095
Abstract: A cooler bypass apparatus housing has a first fluid passageway connecting a first inlet and a first outlet port, and a second fluid passageway connecting a second inlet port and outlet port. A transverse passageway extends between the first and second fluid passageway. A first valve is disposed in the transverse passageway for one-way fluid flow from the first to the second passageway. A second valve and a thermal actuator coupled to the second valve are disposed in the second passageway. The thermal actuator moves the second valve to fluid flow blocking or fluid flow allowing positions dependent upon fluid temperature.
