  • Publication number: 20120079424
Abstract: A redundant array of independent nodes are networked together. Each node executes an instance of an application that provides object-based storage. The nodes are grouped into a plurality of systems each having multiple nodes. A data protection level method comprises setting a numerical value of a system dynamic data protection level for each system of nodes; and in response to user input, setting a value of a data protection level for one or more data objects in a system, the value being a fixed numerical value or a dynamic value. If the one or more data objects have a dynamic value of the data protection level in a system, the one or more data objects inherit the system dynamic data protection level of the system in which the one or more data objects reside. The value of the data protection level represents a number of copies of data of the one or more data objects to be kept where the one or more data objects reside.

  • Patent number: 7952495
Abstract: A method and device for entering data is provided wherein the pressing of up to two combinations of proximate keys on a keypad concurrently sends a signal or signals from the keypad to a processor. The processor receives the signal or signals and identifies a character, symbol, or function associated with the signal or signals and reports the same. In one embodiment, the keypad used for entering the data has a configuration of three columns and four rows. A method of identifying a character, symbol, or function comprises comparing the signal or signals to a data set of associated characters, symbols, or functions wherein the data set is mapped to said signal or signals with a modified Braille cell.

  • Publication number: 20100124534
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of monitoring the efficacy of an immunotherapy in a mammalian subject, wherein the subject has been administered an immunotherapy, wherein the immunotherapy comprises a viral vector containing a polynucleotide encoding an antigen, wherein the viral vector is capable of transducing cells in the mammalian subject to cause the cells to express the antigen; the method comprising: (b) measuring, from a biological sample isolated from the subject, an immune response of the subject to the antigen and comparing the immune response of the subject to the antigen to a reference measurement of immune response to the antigen; (c) measuring, from a biological sample isolated from the subject, an immune response of the subject to the viral vector and comparing the immune response of the subject to the viral vector to a reference measurement of immune response to the viral vector; and (d) determining efficacy based on the comparisons of (b) and (c), wherein an elevated immune response

  • Patent number: 7517219
Abstract: A musical video is made at a first time of a dancer whose head is stationary but whose feet and body are moving in synchronism with a dance song. The dancer's head is then removed from the video. At a festive occasion (e.g., a birthday party) at a subsequent time, the dance song is replayed and a video is made of the response of the head, in a stationary position, of one or more of the celebrants at the festive occasion to the dance song. The celebrant's head is combined with the dancer's body to produce two (2) videos are then combined into a single video in which the celebrant's head appears on the dancer's body.

  • Publication number: 20080219418
Abstract: A method for analyzing ISVM signaling messages that includes copying, to a message file, messages being transmitted through a signaling link, extracting ISVM messages from the message file that meet at least one trouble criterion, storing the extracted messages in an error report file, and generating an error report from the error report file. The error report lists the extracted messages. Examples of the trouble criterion include messages referencing a designated directory number, messages reporting an error, messages having a signaling point code and a destination point code that are equal, query messages having no matching responses, and unit data service messages.

  • Publication number: 20070083252
Abstract: A method for advancing a stent through a constricted lumen of a patient, in which a medical device having an access tube is urged into the lumen via a slip wire. The access tube defines a tubular body having a slip wire connected thereto. The access tube is advanced into the lumen by feeding the slip wire to a point of partial blockage. The access tube is configured to radially compress or comply upon encountering a narrowed area of the lumen. A stent may then also be advanced to the point of blockage, where it enters the compliant access tube. The stent is then urged through the constricted portion of the lumen by traversing the compliant access tube. Preferably, the access tube has a slit running along its length, and is fabricated from a hydrophilic material.
