  • Patent number: 11654807
Abstract: Described are ergonomic passenger seats that may include monocoque or semi-monocoque seat backs, cellular suspension cushions, and tray tables with support arms that may be located within the interior volume of the monocoque or semi-monocoque seat backs when in their stowed positions. The passenger seats offer enhanced passenger comfort and space while providing a lightweight, simple to manufacture design. Monocoque and semi-monocoque seat backs may form integral parts of passenger seats to support additional loads without need for heavy, complex structures. The space within the monocoque or semi-monocoque seat back may then be used for storage or suspension cushions that offer improved comfort with a lighter seat frame. Monocoque and semi-monocoque seat backs may also facilitate the adoption of several other seating mechanisms, such as new seat mounts that allow for improved seat motion that allows for passenger recline with reduced impingement on other passengers' space.

  • Patent number: 11649297
Abstract: Thermoplastic starch materials and methods of making the same are provided. The methods involve mixing a starch material, plasticizer and water in a low-shear mixer under conditions that will result in substantial gelatinization of the starch material. The melt formed within the mixer is discharged into an extruder for final processing. The methods prevent degradation of the starch material thereby resulting in the formation of a thermoplastic starch material having high strength, due at least in part to the preservation of the molecular weight characteristics of the starch, and improved elasticity due the ability to use higher water contents than conventional processes.

  • Patent number: 11636033
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for managing data in a non-volatile memory. The system may include a non-volatile memory having multiple non-volatile memory sub-drives. A controller of the memory system is configured to route incoming host data to a desired sub-drive, keep data within the same sub-drive as its source during a garbage collection operation, and re-map data between sub-drives, separate from any garbage collection operation, when a sub-drive overflows its designated amount logical address space. The method may include initial data sorting of host writes into sub-drives based on any number of hot/cold sorting functions. In one implementation, the initial host write data sorting may be based on a host list of recently written blocks for each sub-drive and a second write to a logical address encompassed by the list may trigger routing the host write to a hotter sub-drive than the current sub-drive.

  • Patent number: 11593619
Abstract: A computer architecture for multiplier-less machine learning is disclosed. According to some aspects, a neural network apparatus include processing circuitry and memory. The processing circuitry accesses a plurality of weights for a neural network layer and an input vector for the neural network layer, the input vector comprising a plurality of data values. The processing circuitry provides the plurality of weights and the input vector to an addition layer. The addition layer generates data value-weight pairs and, for each data value-weight pair, creates an input block comprising a sum of the data value and the weight. The processing circuitry sorts the input blocks generated by the addition layer. The processing circuitry cancels any opposite signed input blocks from the sorted input blocks to generate a set of blocks. The processing circuitry outputs a Kth largest value from the set of blocks. K is a positive integer.
