  • Patent number: 9610994
Abstract: A system for illuminating a bicycle having a frame comprising a plurality of tubular frame members wherein each frame member has a plurality of orifices. The orifices allow light rays to pass from inside each tubular frame member to outside each tubular frame member. Bulbs for emitting light are adapted to fit inside the tubular frame members and are conductively coupled to a power source. The power source is sized such that the power source fits inside a vertically situated tubular frame member. A planar platform, having a length in one direction that is less than the inside cross sectional diameter of the vertically aligned tubular frame member, is sized so that the platform fits inside the vertical tubular frame member. The platform supports the power source and is positioned such that the power source can be installed and removed by a user.

  • Patent number: 9553430
Abstract: A flexible conduit fitting system includes a housing that defines at least part of a flexible conduit fitting, and a resilient clip supported by the housing. The flexible conduit fitting may include an aperture for receiving an end of a flexible wiring conduit. The resilient clip may have an engagement portion that extends into the aperture of the flexible conduit fitting to engage the generally corrugated outer structure of the flexible wiring conduit. The housing may be configured to support the resilient clip in a manner that allows the resilient clip to flex in a direction of movement of the flexible wiring conduit when the flexible wiring conduit is being inserted into the aperture and past the engagement portion, but to not substantially flex in the direction of movement of the flexible wiring conduit when attempting to withdraw the flexible wiring conduit from the aperture.

  • Patent number: 9532013
Abstract: A system, device, and method for determining the integrity of sensor-based image(s) are disclosed. The integrity determination system may include one or more sources of passive sensor-based image data, one or more sources of an active sensor-based image data, and an image processing unit (“IPU”). The IPU may receive passive sensor-based image data; receive active sensor-based image data; and (1) determine the integrity of at least the passive sensor-based image data by comparison of the passive sensor-based image data with the active sensor-based image data, and/or (2) combine the passive sensor-based image data with the active sensor-based image data to produce third image data from which a pilot may manually determine the integrity of the first image data.

  • Patent number: 9164062
Abstract: A method of early detection of scaling on internal surfaces of conduits of water processing equipment, is provided herein. The method includes: transmitting ultrasonic signals through the wall of the conduits; deriving data samples from received ultrasonic signals or reflections thereof; calculating a moving average of the scatter of the ultrasonic signals, over time, based on the data samples; applying a statistical operand to the moving average, to yield a statistical distribution metric; determining a dynamic window defined by: (i) an upper boundary being the moving average plus at least a fraction of the statistical distribution metric and (ii) a lower boundary being the moving average minus the at least a fraction of the statistical distribution metric; generating a trend line being a smooth fitting of the derived samples; and monitoring the trend line within the window to detect a crossover of the trend line at either of the boundaries.

  • Patent number: 8965670
Abstract: Software, at a networked central computer or at a wireless mobile user device, uses GPS coordinates of a mobile user device's current location to determine a polygon in which the GPS coordinates lie. Upon determining the polygon that surrounds the current location, the software can perform a task related to the polygon. Examples of tasks include: determining traffic camera images to display on the mobile user device based on the location, speed, and heading of the user device. The images can include advertisements that pertain to the general vicinity, or demographics of those typically in the vicinity, of the cameras' coverage area. Another task includes associating performance data from a vehicle, and stored in a table, for a given location with a corresponding polygon that surrounds the location; processing the data; and assigning a risk value to the polygon based on the corresponding performance data.
