  • Patent number: 9671161
Abstract: A gas liquefaction process, especially for producing LNG, maintains product flow rate and temperature by controlling the refrigeration so that variation to reduce any difference between actual and required product temperatures is initiated before variation of the product flow rate to reduce any difference between actual and required flow rates.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 8, 2011
Date of Patent: June 6, 2017
Assignee: Air Products and Chemicals, Inc.
Inventors: Michael Andrew Sicinski, Brian Keith Johnston, Scott Robert Trautmann, Mark Julian Roberts
  • Patent number: 9624105
Abstract: Process for producing a hydrogen-containing product gas while impeding corrosion of piping operatively connecting a condensate separator and a pressure swing adsorption unit by heating the effluent gas stream from the condensate separator well above the dew point of the effluent gas stream to prevent liquid water in the stream. Heating of the effluent gas stream is provided without deteriorating the energy efficiency of the process.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: April 18, 2017
Assignee: Air Products and Chemicals, Inc.

  • Patent number: 9458013
Abstract: Process for the production of a H2-containing product in a hydrogen production facility comprising a catalytic steam-hydrocarbon reformer and a pressure swing adsorption unit. The process comprises a catalytic steam-hydrocarbon reformer shutdown mode, a pressure swing adsorption unit shutdown mode, a pressure swing adsorption unit maintenance state, a pressure swing adsorption unit startup mode, and a catalytic steam-hydrocarbon reformer startup mode. The pressure swing adsorption unit startup mode comprises purging the adsorption beds with N2, then purging the adsorption beds with H2, and then adjusting the pressure of the H2 in the adsorption beds to within defined target pressure ranges.
