  • Patent number: 8539145
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for increasing a number of ranks per channel. The channel comprises at least one buffered dual in-line memory module (DIMM). The at least one buffered DIMM comprises a conventional number of ranks and a conventional number of pins. The method includes receiving a memory access request at a memory controller, wherein the memory controller comprises a conventional number of pins. The method also includes encoding a plurality of chip-select (CS) signals at the memory controller, wherein the plurality of CS signals are based on the memory access request, such that the number of ranks per channel increases compared to a conventional number of ranks per channel while not requiring an increase in the number of pins in the memory controller compared to the conventional number of pins of the memory controller.

  • Patent number: 6957908
Abstract: An environmental shield for reducing or eliminating leakage of materials from transit vehicles, including truck-mounted concrete mixers, is provided. The environmental shield preferably engages at least a portion of an opening on a mixer drum such that the leakage that generally occurs in such situations as travel along hilly or bumpy terrain, surging, etc. may be prevented or minimized. The environmental shield preferably includes a discharge cover and a combination steel/rubber abrasion resistant sealing member and may be preferably coupled to a charging hopper of the transit vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4354554
Abstract: A wire line removable well safety valve in an oil and gas well completion design including a tubing string, a well packer around the tubing string sealing with the well casing, and a submergible well pump on the tubing string below the packer. The safety valve controls flow of pumped well fluids through the tubing string, directs separated gas into the casing annulus around the tubing string above the packer, and shuts off the flow of pumped fluids and separated gas to the surface while permitting recirculation of pumped well fluids between the annulus and tubing string below the packer.

  • Patent number: 4276937
Abstract: A well safety system for controlling the flow of fluid through well conduits. The system includes a surface controlled subsurface safety valve made up as part of a tubing string extending from the well surface to a subsurface formation within a casing string. A packer, installed below the safety valve, forms a fluid tight seal between the tubing and casing to direct fluid from below the packer into the tubing. The safety valve contains lateral passageways which allow communication of fluid from the bore of the safety valve to the annulus between the tubing and casing above the packer. A valve actuator is releasably secured within the upper portion of the safety valve and forms a fluid tight seal between control fluid pressure in the tubing string above the safety valve and formation fluid pressure in the tubing string below the safety valve. The safety valve can be locked open when control pressure is increased above a preselected value and then released.
