  • Patent number: 4600033
Abstract: A guard for attachment to the end of a cylinder of compressed gas comprises a cylindrical portion of diameter approximating the diameter of the intended cylinder and a pair of flanges extending outwardly from the cylindrical portion and contiguous therewith and defining between the flanges a space through which access can be obtained to the interior of the guard for observing and operating upon the valve arrangement of the cylinder. The cylindrical portion is clamped around the cylinder by drawing together the flanges by a pair of bolts extending across the flanges with spaces for defining the minimum space between the flanges. Openings in the cylindrical portion provide handles and access to the interior. The end of the cylindrical portion is open. A chain for supporting the guard and cylinder is attached to the guard and hooks are mounted on the flanges for receiving the hose from the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4557285
Abstract: A pipe plugging tool for use in cutting and then soldering a fitting to a pipe includes a shaft, sleeve, compressible plug and nut arranged so that the nut can be rotated to axially compress the plug so that it radially expands into contact with the inner surface of the pipe. A stop member can be removably and adjustably positioned on the sleeve to set the location of the plug relative to the end of the pipe so that the nut is exposed when the fitting has been completed and so that the plug is spaced from the soldering heat sufficient distance to prevent degradation of the plug. A bag including a zipper and hook loop connecting fabric can be wrapped around the pipe prior to cutting. The bag has sleeves through which the hands of the operator can pass so that the cutting and plugging can be completed inside the bag and any escaping water collected at the bottom of the bag.

  • Patent number: 4103453
Abstract: This invention relates to an improved handle for attachment of a pair of control cables to a model airplane for control of the latter during flight. The handle consists of a gripping portion which has adjustable parallel bolts extending perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the gripping portion. Connected between the parallel bolts is a crossbar to which is attached a pair of slidable nylon guide blocks. Through the adjustment of the guide blocks along the crossbar, the cables to the airplane may be varied in length to properly stablize the plane during flight.

  • Patent number: 3991223
Abstract: Roasted and ground coffee is contacted with steam and the evolved vapors are condensed and partitioned in two separate and successive operations with liquid glyceride material such as a vegetable oil. By the use of appropriate partitioning parameters both the second glyceride and water phases have been found to have a smooth, buttery flavor useful for enhancing soluble coffee. The second glyceride phase may be combined with natural grinder gas, added to liquid coffee extract and then dried to produce an aromatized soluble coffee product.
