  • Publication number: 20170182244
Abstract: A method identifies to which one of a plurality of infusion pumps one of a plurality of fluid lines is coupled. The method can include intentionally producing a predetermined pressure pattern in one of the plurality of fluid lines, detecting the predetermined pressure pattern by way of a sensor of one of the plurality of infusion pumps, and indicating detection of the predetermined pressure pattern in the one of the plurality of fluid lines, thereby indicating the one of the plurality of infusion pumps to which the one of the plurality of fluid lines is coupled. In some cases, a tool configured to occlude and the squeeze the fluid line can be used to intentionally produce the predetermined pressure pattern.

  • Publication number: 20160339167
Abstract: Embodiments relate generally to drug delivery infusion profiles that can be transferred and executed on infusion pumps without the need for loading new firmware. Particularly, embodiments relate to integrating and/or editing delivery profiles for execution infusion systems. Such systems can include target-controlled infusion systems. Advantages of such embodiments include enabling healthcare providers and medical device companies to respond quickly to changes in infusion pump technology, drug development, and pharmacokinetics by providing the ability to create, edit, integrate, and store delivery profiles to accommodate these changes.

  • Publication number: 20160030676
Abstract: A device for prevention of unintentional syringe aspiration includes a syringe cartridge. The syringe cartridge includes a syringe barrel having a first end and a second end, and an outlet at the second end. A plunger is slidably disposed in the barrel between the first end and the second end. A cap is engaged with the first end of the cartridge; and the cap includes a force element. When a substance in the barrel is cooled and frozen and then thawed, the force element tends to force the plunger to move back toward the second end of the barrel.

  • Patent number: 9119917
Abstract: A system and method for adjusting insulin infusion volume based on air in an infusion set tube includes inputting at least one location and length of an air bubble along the infusion set tube. An air bubble volume is determined in the infusion set tube. An insulin infusion volume is determined based on a desired insulin infusion. A determination is then made whether the desired insulin infusion would include the air bubble volume based on the inputted location and length of the air bubble. The air bubble volume is added to the insulin infusion volume to make an adjusted insulin infusion volume if the insulin infusion volume includes the air bubble.
