    Abstract: An entrapment snare, consisting of two small but heavy weights connected by a flexible cable covered with spikes, is designed to be launched from a pursuing law enforcement vehicle at one of the rear tires of a fleeing vehicle. One heavy weight is attached to each end of the flexible cable. The weights are forcefully projected, at ground level, in a forward direction at one of the rear tires of the fleeing vehicle such that the weights bracket the tire. Initially, the two projectile weights have forward linear momentum and the cable connecting them is slack. The middle of the cable hits the target tire at or near where the rubber meets the road and the cable goes into tension. Very quickly, the two ends of the cable attached to the projectile weights pull tightly into place in front of the target tire.

    Abstract: A working boot designed such that the bottom of the foot of a wearer will be completely shielded by a metal sole yet still be capable of full, free movement. The shoe sole structure hinges a forward sole section to a rear sole section such that the straight hinge line passes below the lowest points of the first and fifth metatarsal heads of the foot of a wearer. It was found that, in order for a completely flat sole to work, the horizontal length of the hinge must be equal to the vertical thickness of the sole sections.

    Abstract: A high heel shoe designed such that the bottom of the foot of a wearer will contact the sole of the shoe along the same points that said foot would contact a smooth, level floor if standing with feet flat on said floor, providing the foot of a wearer with the same support surface in a high heel shoe that would be present in a flat shoe. The shoe sole structure hinges a forward sole section to a rigid rear sole section with a planar upper surface such that the straight hinge line passes below the lowest points of the first and fifth metatarsal heads of the foot of the wearer. The sole of the invention does not apply pressure in the sensitive arch area of the foot due to the planar nature of the upper surface of the rear sole section and it supports the ball and heel of the foot in the same manner as if the foot were standing on a flat surface. The rigid coupling between the forward and rear sole sections permits balancing forces from the toes to immediately counteract instability in the heel area.
