  • Patent number: 9821856
Abstract: A fully foldable mud flap has an upper flap section having a magnet permanently attached and a lower flap section having a magnet of the opposite polarity attached. The flap sections are connected by a hinge which allows rotation of the lower flap section in relation to the upper flap section, such that, in the retracted position, the lower flap section is parallel to and directly faces the upper flap section, with the magnets securing the flap sections in this position. The mud flap can be conveniently manually folded and unfolded, when desired.

  • Patent number: 8484926
Abstract: A frame member for use in constructing screen walls, screen doors, window screens and related structures. The frame member has an elongate channel-containing section and an elongate plate section that extends from the channel-containing section. The channel-containing section has a longitudinally extending channel that has a narrow section and a relatively wider section. The narrow section of the channel defines an entrance to the channel. The channel is sized for receiving spline that secures a screen to the frame member. The channel-containing section has a rear wall and a pair of sidewalls. Each sidewall has an outer surface. The channel-containing section has a pair of front wall sections. Each front wall section is on a corresponding side of the channel entrance. The elongate plate section has a first surface and an opposite second surface and is substantially perpendicular to the rear wall of the channel-containing section.

  • Publication number: 20090089420
Abstract: A system, method and computer readable medium configured to track Internet users as they browse web-sites when cookies are disabled or deleted. One aspect of the present invention includes the realization that cookies are not adequate to track Internet web users as cookies are limited and size, and easily deleted by users. A web-site receives a request for content from the computing-device. After obtaining information about the computing-device, the tracking-server assesses the request for content from the computing-device. If the computing-device has an available flash plug-in, the tracking-server transmits a flash applet to the computing-device. The flash applet is configured to: determine whether a unique flash identifier has been assigned to the computing-device, generate the unique flash identifier if no unique flash identifier has already been assigned to the computing-device, transmit the unique flash identifier to a tracking server, and store the unique flash identifier in local flash storage.

  • Publication number: 20080172978
Abstract: A screen wall system that provides the ability to form a screen wall using just a few, particular channel members and corresponding adapter members. One of the few, particular channel members is a “U” channel member that can be used to form other types of channel members. Each adapter member can be removably attached to one or two channel members to form “F” channel members, “H” channel members and corner members that are collectively used to assembly a screen wall.

  • Publication number: 20030120408
Abstract: An occupant restraint deployment apparatus for a vehicle has a passenger compartment crash sensor and a plurality of satellite crash sensors, typically in vehicle crush zones. The satellite sensors are each responsive to local acceleration to generate a satellite deploy level signal having discrete values. The passenger compartment sensor is responsive to a passenger compartment (i.e. vehicle) acceleration to generate a passenger compartment deploy level signal and a passenger compartment safing signal. A multi-stage restraint in the passenger compartment is deployable by a control acting in three parallel modes, each requiring a deploy signal from one of the crash sensors based on full deploy requirements and a safing signal, typically based on lesser requirements, from a different one of the crash sensors. The three modes differ in which sensors provide each of the signals: (1) satellite deploy, passenger safe; (2) satellite deploy, different satellite safe; and (3) passenger deploy, satellite safe.

  • Publication number: 20030114971
Abstract: A vehicle occupant restraint deployment control for a multi-stage restraint senses a longitudinal acceleration of a vehicle passenger compartment and generates a first stage deployment signal in response to a predetermined value of a longitudinal velocity derived from the longitudinal acceleration. The control is further responsive to a sensed lateral acceleration of the vehicle passenger compartment to generate a second stage deployment signal, provided that the first stage deployment signal has also been generated.

  • Patent number: 6553294
Abstract: A dual stage occupant restraint deployment control provides a signal for first stage restraint deployment if, during a sensed possible crash event, a velocity value derived from a sensed acceleration and one or more immunity measures meet predetermined criteria. A second stage restraint deployment signal is provided if a crash severity measure derived from the time rate of change of the sensed acceleration meets predetermined criteria and the first stage activation signal has been generated. The method and apparatus ensure that the immunity criteria are met for both first and second stage deployment without repeated testing if the crash severity measure is vulnerable to non-crash accelerations produced by “misuse” events and rough road driving.
