  • Publication number: 20230204981
Abstract: Eyewear including a frame, a projector supported by the frame, and a lens supported by the frame. The lens has a first surface facing an eye of the user and a second surface facing away from the eye of the user when the frame is worn. The lens also includes a waveguide defined by the first and second surfaces to receive light from the projector. An input light coupler and an output light coupler are on the first surface of the lens and at least one reflector is positioned on a second surface of the lens to redirect light received from the input coupler and/or the output coupler to redirect light having an angle of incidence with respect to the second surface of the lens that would result in that portion of the light exiting the waveguide through the second surface in the absence of the at least one reflector.

  • Patent number: 11575872
Abstract: Three-dimensional image calibration and presentation for eyewear including a pair of image capture devices is described. Calibration and presentation includes obtaining a calibration offset to accommodate flexure in the support structure for the eyewear, adjusting a three-dimensional rendering offset by the obtained calibration offset, and presenting the stereoscopic images using the three-dimension rendering offset.

  • Publication number: 20220342222
Abstract: A projector, such as for eyewear, having a first and second shield that individually sink heat from a light source and provide electromagnetic (EM) shielding for the projector, and a processor controlling the projector. The shields sink heat evenly and efficiently, to different portions of the eyewear. In one example, the heat is directed in different directions. The shields encompass the light source and the processor, and they may be parallel to one another. The thickness of the shield coupled to the light source is thicker proximate the light source. The shields may be separated from each other by a thermal insulating material.

  • Publication number: 20220320718
Abstract: An antenna that is coupled to and integrated with a projector, such as a projector included with smart glasses including eyewear. The projector has a housing and includes optical components configured to display an image. At least one antenna is coupled to the projector, wherein the optical components operate and function as an antenna substrate. The optical components are nonmetallic such that the antenna generates a strong E-field. The antenna may be coupled to the projector housing, such as on the inside or the outside surface of the housing. Multiple antennas can be included to generate multiple resonances simultaneously in different frequency bands.

  • Patent number: 9264810
Abstract: Embodiments provide apparatuses and systems which include a front surface, a back surface, and a second back surface. A speaker may be disposed between the front surface and the back surface. The speaker is to direct audio substantially orthogonally through the back surface. The second back surface is to enable an acoustic response from the speaker. A method is also provided which enables a computing device to determine whether it is engaging a surface. In response to the determination, the computing device may adjust the audio signal provisioned to a speaker directed orthogonally to the surface, and output the audio signal to provision an omni-directional acoustic response.
