  • Patent number: 8770667
Abstract: Methods and equipment have been developed that combine the use of continuous miners, flexible conveyor trains, and longwall mining techniques to provide flexible and efficient removal of resources from subterranean formations. Some methods for use in a mining operation include advancing a continuous miner towards an angled face that extends from a headgate to a tailgate; and performing an angled cutting turn in which the continuous miner turns less than 90°.

  • Patent number: 7611427
Abstract: A method, system, and apparatus provide multiple players with a unique competitive game. According to one implementation described herein, a game partition has opposing side edges, a top edge, and a bottom edge. Transparent or translucent partition material spans the area defined by these edges and includes at least one aperture sized to allow a game ball to pass through. The game partition may include numerous apertures of various shapes and sizes. The game partition may be utilized in conjunction with a trampoline or inflatable jumping device to provide teams of players to attempt to tag opposing players with balls thrown through the apertures in the game partition while maneuvering on the jumping surface. According to one implementation, points are scored and accumulated according to point values assigned to each aperture when a ball is thrown through an aperture and tags an opposing player.

  • Publication number: 20080065767
Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing network-based control functions on an alert-enabled managed client. An alert proxy translates generic, management-based command data received from a management application/agent into specific client-based hardware control data. The alert proxy transmits a data packet containing the hardware control data over a network to an alert-enabled managed client. Alert hardware within the alert-enabled managed client parses the hardware control data into control bits and utilizes the control bits to set or clear registers within the alert-enabled managed client so as to effectuate the specified control operations. The control operations may be performed on the alert-enabled managed client independent of the operational status of the alert-enabled managed client's operating system.

  • Patent number: 5292136
Abstract: A game of skill comprising a three piece game set including two sticks or rods and a ball, with the ball attached to one of said sticks with a string. After placing the ball on the end of one stick, the object of the game is to transfer the ball to the end of the other stick without touching the ball or using the string. This is done by placing a rapid movement downward of the stick holding the ball while holding the second stick near the hole and catching it as the first stick is lowered. The process can be repeated transfering the ball back to the first stick and so on.
