  • Patent number: 9784121
Abstract: A continuous slag processing system includes a rotating parallel disc pump, coupled to a motor and a brake. The rotating parallel disc pump includes opposing discs coupled to a shaft, an outlet configured to continuously receive a fluid at a first pressure, and an inlet configured to continuously discharge the fluid at a second pressure less than the first pressure. The rotating parallel disc pump is configurable in a reverse-acting pump mode and a letdown turbine mode. The motor is configured to drive the opposing discs about the shaft and against a flow of the fluid to control a difference between the first pressure and the second pressure in the reverse-acting pump mode. The brake is configured to resist rotation of the opposing discs about the shaft to control the difference between the first pressure and the second pressure in the letdown turbine mode.

  • Publication number: 20170264598
Abstract: In a method for performing symmetric stream encryption of data using a keystream and for transmitting the encrypted data, wherein the keystream is generated using at least one feedback shift register, which is initialized by filling with a defined bit sequence, the data to be encrypted is distributed into data packets, wherein each data packet is encrypted separately. The one or more feedback shift register(s) is/are re-initialized in order to encrypt each data packet, wherein at least a first bit sequence and a second bit sequence are used in each case to initialize the one or more feedback shift registers, wherein the first bit sequence is added to each encrypted data packet in clear text or in coded form and the second bit sequence represents a secret key that is not added to the encrypted data packets. The encrypted data packets are transmitted in packet switching mode together with the respectively added bit sequence and optionally header data.

  • Patent number: 9702372
Abstract: A system includes a first pump having a first outlet and a first inlet, and a controller. The first pump is configured to continuously receive a flow of a slurry into the first outlet at a first pressure and to continuously discharge the flow of the slurry from the first inlet at a second pressure less than the first pressure. The controller is configured to control a first speed of the first pump against the flow of the slurry based at least in part on the first pressure, wherein the first speed of the first pump is configured to resist a backflow of the slurry from the first outlet to the first inlet.

  • Publication number: 20160217389
Abstract: A method for training a machine learning model for open domain question answering includes receiving trained classifiers for question answering. The received trained classifiers are used to generate a set of candidate answers to a question. Second trained classifiers are used for scoring each of the candidate answers. The scoring indicates a measure of how well each candidate answer answers the question. Using the second trained classifiers for scoring each of the candidate answers includes comparing each candidate answer to a first ground truth corresponding to the question. A set of top-scoring candidate answers is presented to a human operator who marks each as correct or incorrect. The correct candidate answers are treated as additional ground truths for further training the first trained classifiers.

  • Publication number: 20150046416
Abstract: A method for writing and reading data into or out of an indexed dataset includes a data structure and an associated index structure, a processing unit that receives data to be written in plain text and writes the data to the data structure by means of write access and updates index data in the index structure. The processing unit detects data to be read out or the memory location thereof by means of access to the index data and reads out a data from the data structure by means of read access and makes the same available in plain text. The data in the data structure and the index data in the index structure are stored in an encrypted manner. Write/read access of the processing unit to the index structure and to the data structure take place via at least one en- and decryption unit.

  • Patent number: 7526088
Abstract: A code generator includes a plurality of storage elements (such as flip flops) connected to form a code-producing series, wherein the output of the final storage element in the series in connected to the input of the first storage element in the series to form a circuit and outputs and inputs of the storage elements are recursively connected means of EXOR gates. The first input of at least one EXOR gate is connected to the output of a storage element disposed in the code-producing series, the second input thereof is connected to the output of another storage element disposed in the code-producing series, and the output thereof is connected to the input of the storage element which succeeds the storage element connected with the first input of the EXOR gate. The output of a storage element disposed in the code-producing series is connected to the input of an inverter and the output of the inverter is connected to the input of another storage element disposed in the series.
