The radar apparatus transmits a radar signal that includes a base radar frequency signal with a frequency shift. The radar apparatus receives at least one reflected signal from the projectile(s). The trigger is operably coupled to the radar apparatus to automatically initiate operation of the radar apparatus. The processor collects data from the radar apparatus and calculates velocity of the projectile(s) based thereon. The present disclosure further provides a method of monitoring the projectile(s) during flight with the system. The present disclosure further provides a chronograph system with a housing, aiming device with a peep sight, and a trigger.
