  • Patent number: 10019879
Abstract: A smoke detector having a light source for generating a beam of light is disclosed. The smoke detector is arranged to transmit the beam along an optical axis and includes a sensor for receiving light scattered from the beam off the optical axis by smoke; and a light trap comprising one or more walls that define a volume for receiving light that passes unscattered from the light source past the sensor along the optical axis. The volume includes a first end closest on the optical axis to the light source; and a second end furthest on the optical axis from the light source. The volume is open at said first end but is otherwise closed, and at least one of the walls is sloped from the first end to the second end, such that the light trap progressively narrows from the first end axially towards the second end.

  • Publication number: 20160012703
Abstract: Disclosed is a trap including a status LED configured to indicate a trap status, a door sensor configured to indicate a door status, and a status button, configured to: 1) wake a micro controller such that the telemetry-enabled trap can be registered with a telemetry system, and 2) cause the status LED to indicate at least the trap status and the door status. Also disclosed is a method for monitoring the trap. The method includes receiving GPS data, monitoring the GPS data for valid positional information, and receiving an event message from a trap tracker module.

  • Patent number: 6479455
Abstract: A process for improving storage stability and solubility of a laundry detergent powder includes the steps of: (a) forming a builder agglomerate which is free of sodium carbonate and (b) adding the builder agglomerate to a laundry detergent powder composition. The builder agglomerate is present in an amount in a range of from about 14% to about 21% by weight of the laundry detergent powder composition. The builder agglomerate has a composition including an aluminosilicate ion exchange and a binder selected from the group consisting of surfactants, polyethylene glycol, polyacrylates, and mixtures thereof. The builder agglomerate also includes sodium diethylenetriaminepentaacetate (DTPA) and balance water but the builder agglomerate is free of sodium carbonate.

  • Patent number: 5793646
Abstract: A facility environmental control ("FEC") system is disclosed that communicates using an open network management protocol such as the simple network management protocol ("SNMP"). The FEC system includes a first plurality of FEC devices operable to obtain data concerning the environment of a facility and a second plurality of FEC devices operable to receive command signals and perform operations that affect the environment of the facility in accordance with the received command signals. The system further includes a control system operably connected to the first and second plurality of FEC devices, and a control system agent operably connected to the control system. In general, the control system receives data from the first plurality of FEC devices and provides command signals to the second plurality of FEC devices.
