  • Publication number: 20200180823
Abstract: A container includes a container section and an annular neck section with at least a first rim and a second rim, a resilient compression fold connecting the first rim and the second rim, the resilient allowing the neck section to compress and decompress in response to a force being exerted on a top edge of the neck section. A shoulder between the container section and the neck section may include a container stop configured to cooperate with a lid stop located on a lid for the container to limit rotation of the lid relative to the neck section.

  • Publication number: 20160274556
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for monitoring and managing energy consumption for a managed facility. The managed facility may include one or more electronic devices such as appliances or other smaller electronics that consume energy when operated. A hub at the managed facility may receive energy usage information for the managed facility and provide the energy usage information to a server. The server may generate, based on the energy usage information, instructions for controlling some or all of the one or more electronic devices. The instructions may be generated based on additional information such as user preferences or rules, utility alerts, facility occupancy, energy demand, or other information. The hub may receive the instructions and provide corresponding control signals to the electronic devices to operate the devices to manage the energy consumption.

  • Patent number: 7322034
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for allocating computer resources. The method may be implemented in software instructions in a resource allocator that allocates resources among workloads operating on the system. Parameters defining service level objectives for the execution of workloads are received from a user input device. At least one of the service level objectives is a utilization cap that limits the overall allocation of system resources among the workloads. The parameters include priorities for the service level objectives, including the utilization cap. As the workloads execute on the system, utilization data is received indicating usage of system resources. Resources are allocated to the workloads according to the priorities of the service level objectives and based on the utilization data.

  • Patent number: 7159184
Abstract: A method is disclosed for creating a configuration file for use with a resource allocator that allocates computer system resources, such as CPU resources, among workloads operating on the system. A software application referred to as a “wizard” generates a graphical user interface (GUI) having multiple linked input screens to prompt a user step-by-step to enter specifications for the workloads. The GUI displays a prompt for a user to define a workload and to configure a resource allocation policy for the defined workload. The CPU resource allocation policy specifies how resources are allocated to the defined workload. The wizard receives the requested specifications from a user input device. Based on the received specifications, a configuration file is created and may be used by a resource allocator to allocate resources among workloads according to the specifications.

  • Patent number: 6970069
Abstract: A method and system for sending messages that indicate position. In one embodiment, the message transmission device includes a message transmission unit that is coupled to a position determination system. A server is adapted to receive messages from the message transmission device. In operation, a first message is generated at the message transmission device. The position of the message transmission device is determined and is included in the message. The message is then sent to the server. The server then generates a second message that complies with any instruction indicated in the first message that relates to position. An instruction that relates to position can indicate routing, format, performance of a task, etc. By indicating return routing in the instruction, a user can obtain location in any of a number of desired formats without the need to store extensive databases in the message transmission device.
