  • Patent number: 7439166
Abstract: In one implementation, a method for fabricating a tiered structure is provided, which includes forming a source and a drain on a substrate with a gate formed therebetween. Formation of the gate includes depositing a gate foot using a gate foot mask having an opening through it to define the gate foot over the substrate. After forming the gate foot, the gate foot mask is stripped. A gate head mask is formed over the gate foot with the gate head mask exposing a top portion of the gate foot. A gate head is formed on the top portion of the gate foot using the gate head mask. A lift-off process is performed, removing the gate head mask.

  • Patent number: 7416484
Abstract: A method for simulating bonus awards in a finite award pool system is disclosed. The finite award pool comprises a plurality of primary awards and at least one simulated bonus award, where at least one of the primary awards indicate further entitlement to one of the simulated bonus awards. The simulated bonus awards may not be selected as a primary award per se, but constitute a portion of the actual primary award when combined with the primary award associated therewith. Additionally, the present arrangement allows simulation of more complex bonus award in finite pool systems by providing multiple or nested bonus level selections from either primary prizes or bonus prizes.

  • Publication number: 20080126465
Abstract: A computer operated, calendar-based financial calculator comprises a computer display, calendar calculating software, and a calculation engine, so as to provide a visual presentation of any calendar month. Each day of each month of each year has a unique numerical value which can be understood and acted upon by the calculation engine. A value cell can be presented in a date cell being displayed on the computer display, and a numerical value or a mathematical expression may be entered into the value cell. The calculation engine is adapted to calculate a value for a similar identified value cell in any other date cell in keeping with the numerical value entered into an operating identified value cell presently being displayed, and in keeping with a predetermined governing mathematical expression which has been previously entered for that operating identified value cell.

  • Publication number: 20080009612
Abstract: Methods and compositions for making nucleoside phosphoramidites and nucleic acids, including mono-, di-, and polynucleotides, comprising a linker covalently attached to a levulinyl moiety are provided. A levulinyl-protected linking moiety affords an orthogonal approach to modifying a polynucleotide during or after solid phase synthesis with a molecule of interest, for example, a conjugate or a dye.

  • Publication number: 20070269889
Abstract: RNA molecules, including siRNA molecules and related control, trackability and exaequo agents with specific stability modifications are provided. These molecules are particularly advantageous as transfection control reagents. The molecules include first and second 5? terminal sense nucleotides with 2?-O-alkyl groups and a label on the first 5? terminal sense nucleotide, in conjunction with at least one additional 2?-O-alkyl pyrimidine modified sense nucleotide, and either: (i) at least one 2? fluoro modified pyrimidine antisense nucleotide and a phosphorylated first 5? terminal antisense nucleotide; or (ii) a first and second 5? terminal antisense nucleotide with 2?-O-alkyl modifications and at least one additional 2?-O-alkyl pyrimidine modified antisense nucleotide.

  • Publication number: 20050031522
Abstract: A method for producing oxygen and absorbing carbon dioxide in a single operation using a solution that contains an oxygen source and a redox partner that can react to form oxygen and a chemical species that can form an insoluble carbonate to precipitate and chemically store carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is introduced into the solution and the carbonate precipitates as the oxygen is generated. In particular, the invention uses an aqueous solution of permanganate and hydrogen peroxide that react in the presence of a catalyst to produce oxygen and manganese (II) ions. Carbon dioxide gas introduced into the solution reacts with the manganese (II) ions to precipitate manganese carbonate. Other cations capable of reacting with carbon dioxide to form an insoluble carbonate, for example calcium, barium and magnesium, may also be added to the solution to precipitate carbonate salts. Calcium permanganate may used as a source of both calcium and permanganate.
