Abstract: A protective cover for a portable computer has a central core and an outer shell. The perimeter of the outer shell has a pair of opposed major edges which define its width and a pair of opposed minor edges which define its length. An adhesive strip with a height less than its width is placed on the outer shell so that its width is parallel to the pair of opposed major edges. The adhesive strip is spaced from one of the opposed major edges by approximately one-half the adhesive strip's height and is spaced from one of the opposed minor edges by a distance of approximately the adhesive strip's height.
