Abstract: A craft ruler employs a laser module which is longitudinally positionable along the ruler. A laser emits a beam which defines a crafting guideline on an adjacent surface. The angular position of the laser guideline may also be adjusted relative to the straight edge on the ruler. In addition, more than one ruler may be ganged together to form orthogonal lines or a grid.

Abstract: A new and improved cutting instrument is disclosed, having a strong rigid exoskeleton. The exoskeleton is made of a fiber and resin matrix, such as a carbon fiber weave. The carbon fiber exoskeleton can be applied to a scissors handle for increased cutting performance.

Abstract: A rotary trimmer for cutting and/or trimming paper and related sheet material is disclosed. The rotary trimmer comprises a trimmer housing having: (i) a first end portion; (ii) a second end portion; and (iii) a cutting platform having: (a) a first platform; (b) a second platform; and (c) a base platform. The first and the second platforms are pivotably connected at least indirectly to (1) the base platform; and/or (2) the first and the second end portions. The rotary trimmer further includes a blade carriage guide disposed between the first and the second end portions and a blade carriage having one or more cutting blades, and slidably mounted to the blade carriage guide wherein the blade carriage can slide along the blade carriage guide to cut and/or trim a sheet or sheet-like material positioned on the cutting platform. A method of using a rotary trimmer is also disclosed.

Abstract: A hobby knife employs two threadably engaged forward and rear sections and a blade holder which mounts the knife blade for positioning generally outwardly from the front end. The forward section has a tubular shape with three angularly spaced longitudinal indentations which are traversed by a series of longitudinally spaced ribs. The forward and rear sections are substantially covered by overmold material.

Abstract: A magnetized craftsman's turntable apparatus has an armrest. A magnet is embedded in the rectangular turntable for holding the metal templet over a paper sheet. The craftsman's arm can be resting on the immovable armrest as the templet is rotated for cutting designs in the paper sheet.
