  • Patent number: 7168519
Abstract: A switch mounting assembly that adapts a switch to detect a position of a vehicle control, such as the position of a drive control actuator of a lawn and garden tractor or similar vehicle. The switch mounting assembly includes a switch support member and a lever pivotally connected to the switch support member. The switch support member mounts a switch that includes an actuator that is biased to an extended position and a may be selectively depressed to a retracted position. The lever is pivotable between a first position that allows the actuator to be biased to the extended position and a second position that depresses the actuator to the retracted position.

  • Patent number: 7064639
Abstract: A magnetic latching switch. The switch includes a pair of switch terminals, a switch actuator, an electromagnet and a biasing member. The switch actuator is manually moveable from a first position where the switch terminals are in a first state to a second position where the switch terminals are in a second state. The electromagnet selectively applies a magnetic field. Applying the magnetic field with the electromagnet when the switch actuator is in the second position maintains the switch actuator in the second position. The biasing member is coupled to the switch actuator such that the biasing member automatically returns the switch actuator from the second position to the first position when the magnetic field is removed.

  • Patent number: 6835090
Abstract: A sealed electrical assembly that includes a housing having an opening at an end. An electrical device is positioned in the housing. The electrical device includes a lead that extends out of the open end. A cover is positioned within the opening. The cover includes a plate portion and a tab portion spaced apart from the plate portion. The tab portion extends into a cutout in the housing that is located between the plate portion and the housing end to position the cover with respect to the housing. A sealant is disposed around a perimeter of the plate portion to provide a seal between the cover and the housing. A portion of the sealant is disposed in a space between the cutout and the plate portion to prevent leakage through the cutout.

  • Patent number: 6483061
Abstract: The present invention is directed to three pole plunger switch assembly. The assembly includes a three pole plunger switch and a mating connector. The plunger switch includes a switch housing for supporting components of the plunger switch and a plunger extending into an interior region of the switch housing and being actuatable from outside the switch housing wherein the plunger adapted to move between a normal position and an actuated position. The plunger switch further includes first, second and third electrically conductive wiper contacts mounted to the plunger for movement with the plunger and first, second and third sets of terminals extending into the switch housing interior region. Respective terminals of the first and second terminal sets are substantially aligned. The terminals of the third terminal set are perpendicular to the terminals of the first and second terminal sets.

  • Patent number: 6207910
Abstract: A low profile, two pole, plunger-type safety switch and connector assembly includes a switch housing and switch components are supported within the housing interior region. An actuator extends exteriorly though the housing opening and is moveable along a linear path of travel between two positions, one position of the actuator corresponding to an undepressed position and a second position of the actuator corresponding to a depressed position. Terminals of the switch assembly terminate in conductive male contacts extending through a side wall of the switch housing substantially perpendicular to the path of travel of the actuator. The connector assembly includes a connector housing supporting four female terminals sized to snugly receive respective different ones of the four male contacts when the connector housing engages the switch housing. Extending arms of a flexible, electrically conductive shorting member contact a center two of the female terminals.
