  • Publication number: 20160090984
Abstract: A rotor for a pump includes a rotor body, an undervane cavity defined in the rotor body configured to accept an underside of a vane, an outer surface on a periphery of the rotor body for defining overvane cavities within a liner as a function of an inner cammed surface of the liner, and a pressure balance aperture defined in the rotor body fluidly connecting the undervane cavity to at least one of the outer surface.

  • Patent number: 8424416
Abstract: An apparatus is provided and includes a rotatable shaft on which a first bevel gearbox is disposed, a layshaft on which a second bevel gearbox is disposed, the first and second bevel gearboxes being coupled to transmit shaft rotation to the layshaft, an accessory gearbox to which the layshaft and one or more accessories are coupled and a generator operably disposed on the layshaft between the second bevel gearbox and the accessory gearbox.

  • Patent number: 8348633
Abstract: A stability valve assembly includes a centrifugal pump and a valve downstream of the centrifugal pump. The valve includes a valve member that is movable along a valve axis within a valve body to control a fluid flow from the centrifugal pump. The valve member has a first orifice connecting a valve input to a valve chamber, and has at least one second orifice connecting a valve outlet to the valve chamber. A reference pressure upstream of the centrifugal pump applies pressure to a stepped portion of the valve member such that an amount of negative feedback provided by the valve assembly is proportional to a rotational speed of the centrifugal pump.

  • Publication number: 20110293460
Abstract: A vane pump has an inlet window and a discharge window formed within a cam surface. The vane pump includes a rotor carrying a plurality of radially extending vanes which are biased into contact with the cam surface. The rotor has a direction of rotation such that one end of the inlet window can be described as an upstream end, and an opposed end as a downstream end. The inlet window extends for a relatively long width along a rotational axis of the rotor at the upstream end. Angularly inwardly extending sides reduce an axial width of the inlet window in a direction moving in a downstream direction from the upstream end.
