Patent number: 11781683Abstract: Couplings for joining pipe elements have segments with attachment members with faces which contact one another when the segments are properly installed on the pipe elements. Each segment has one or more shrouds and recesses positioned along the faces. The shrouds on one segment are received within respective recesses on the other segment. The shrouds block the line of sight toward the central space which the segments surround and which receives the pipe elements. Index markings on the segments show visual inspection points to confirm proper engagement between the segments and the pipe elements.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2020Date of Patent: October 10, 2023Assignee: VICTAULIC COMPANYInventors: Michael Fleck, Scott D. Madara, Matthew A. Bowman

Publication number: 20230235837Abstract: A method of installing a coupling for joining pipe elements uses a pipe coupling having two segments with action surfaces in facing relationship. Attachment elements on each segment, in the form of lugs, accommodate adjustable fasteners which draw the segments together when tightened. Support surfaces on the lugs engage one another and react the fastener force. Stop surfaces are positioned on the lugs adjacent to the support surfaces. Engagement between the stop surfaces provides a visual indication that the coupling has been properly installed.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 10, 2023Publication date: July 27, 2023Inventors: Matthew A. Patent number: 8990266Abstract: A method of dynamically performing data transformations on information that is transmitted between a user device and a web service may include receiving interface code from the web service, receiving an input from the user device that identifies a data type, and a data transformation to be applied to data instances matching the data type. The method may also include causing a definition file to be stored with the data type, the data transformation, and a resource locator. The method may additionally include, in a second communication session, intercepting a transmission, accessing the definition file using the resource locator, determining whether the data instance matches the data type, causing the data transformation to be performed on the data instance to generate transformed data, and inserting the transformed data into the transmission if the data instance matches the data type.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2012Date of Patent: March 24, 2015Assignee: CipherPoint Software, Inc.Inventors: Woody Shea, Michael Fleck

Patent number: 6524331Abstract: The invention disclosed herein relates to a device for applying thermal therapy, treatment or comfort to a patient or user which includes a container having an upper side and lower side with a space therebetween containing a chemical composition adapted to provide a thermal effect, and a plurality of discrete attachment areas which generally define a central location in the container. The device has a nest configuration and automatically conforms to the user's geometry upon application of weight thereon. The discrete attachment areas are positioned to define an inner peripheral base portion and outer peripheral portion in the device which collectively form the nest configuration. The device is particularly useful in thermal treatment for infants.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 2000Date of Patent: February 25, 2003Assignee: Allegiance CorporationInventors: Daniel Kohout, Charles Ray Mason, Michael Fleck, E. Patent number: 5564065Abstract: A reaction chamber is filled with a fine fibrous material capable of holding powdered anatase titanium dioxide. Embedded in the fibrous mesh is a source of ultraviolet light that is used to photo-excite the titanium dioxide. Air containing carbon monoxide is passed through the reaction chamber, and carbon monoxide is oxidized to carbon dioxide which then passes out of the filter. An alternative embodiment is a rectangular plate several feet square containing fibrous material containing titanium dioxide. Ultraviolet light impinges on the fibrous material photo-exciting the titanium dioxide. When air from an HVAC system is passed through the filter, carbon monoxide is oxidized into carbon dioxide and thus effectively removed from the air. Ultraviolet light can alternatively be supplied to the filter via lossy optical waveguides or fiber optics. These waveguides may be coated with titanium dioxide or the titanium dioxide may be separately suspended in the filter.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 1995Date of Patent: October 8, 1996Assignee: Chelsea Group Ltd.Inventors: Michael Fleck, George Benda
