Abstract: An elongate fishing lure having an elongate and buoyant material core, a single elongate strand of wire of a finite length having a first eyelet at a first end thereof, a second eyelet at a second end thereof and a third eyelet at a location intermediate the first and second ends. A body encasing the core while simultaneously maintaining the first, second and third eyelets exposed relative to an exterior of the body is provided so as to facilitate the connection of each eyelet to one of hooks and fishing line. First and second side plates separate from the body are conformed in shape to the body and oriented flush with respect to the exterior surface of the body are mounted on the body. Each of the first and second side plates has at least one of a plurality of pins and pin receiving sockets thereon with the pin on the respective side plate extending through a hole in the body with a distal end thereof being received in the pin receiving socket on the other side plate.

Abstract: A locking and releasing mechanism for a fishing line release adapted for use with a downrigger cable is disclosed. This device includes a housing adapted to receive a downrigger cable and a locking shaft for selective engagement with the downrigger cable. The device provides selective attachment and release of a plurality of stacked locking and releasing mechanisms and their associated fishing line releases to and from the downrigger cable allowing the downrigger cable to be continuously reeled into a boat.

Abstract: A downrigger fishing system is disclosed which includes a pair of coacting mounting arrangements. This system includes a frame assembly which rotatably supports a downrigger line reel, and a downrigger arm attached to the frame assembly for guiding the downrigger line. Not only may the downrigger system be mounted in a conventional fashion to a suitable downrigger mounting plate, but the system further includes an additional mounting arrangement so that the assembly may be readily and releasably secured to the oarlock of a rowboat or similar small craft. In this way, the downrigger system may be conveniently used for trolling in relatively shallow water or other places where relatively small craft are best suited.
