  • Publication number: 20230398584
Abstract: A technique which facilitates cleaning of an interior of a pipe via access through a lateral hole in the pipe. The technique utilizes a control bar head coupled with a sweeper system which may be inserted into the pipe through the lateral hole. The sweeper system may comprise a plurality of shiftable sweeper heads which generally align for insertion through the lateral hole and then transition along the interior of the pipe to effectively sweep particles along the interior of the pipe. The sweeper system effectively clears an area of the interior of the pipe to facilitate a more effective seal with a subsequently inserted pipe isolation device.

  • Publication number: 20230392740
Abstract: A technique is provided for isolating a pipe during maintenance or servicing of the pipe. The technique may utilize a control bar head having a coupling feature for coupling with a control bar. The control bar head also has a bleed passage extending therethrough to the coupling feature and thus to the control bar when engaged with the control bar. Additionally, the system may comprise a first sealing head slidably engaged with the control bar head. The first sealing head may comprise a first seal element and a first sealing head bleed passage extending therethrough to the control bar head. The system also may comprise a second sealing head slidably engaged with the first sealing head and having a second seal element. The first sealing head bleed passage may be arranged to extend to a region between the first sealing head and the second sealing head to facilitate bleeding of this region.

  • Publication number: 20230364658
Abstract: A technique which facilitates cleaning of an interior of a pipe via access through a lateral hole in the pipe. The technique utilizes a control bar head which may be coupled with a control bar via a coupling feature. A shroud is positioned around the control bar head. The shroud may have a suitable shape with an interior sized to enable linear movement of the control bar head along the interior between an extended position and a retracted position. Additionally, the shroud has an exterior sized to enable insertion through the lateral hole in the pipe. Magnets may be coupled with the control bar head and oriented to pick up particles in the pipe when the control bar head is located in the extended position. When the control bar head is shifted to the retracted position, the magnets ensure retrieval of the particles into the shroud for removal from the pipe when the system is withdrawn.

  • Patent number: 11603956
Abstract: A pipe isolation device and method of using the same. The pipe isolation device includes a control bar head, a first sealing head, and a second sealing head. The first sealing head has a first seal element and a first sliding engagement. The first sliding engagement permits the first sealing head to slide relative to the control bar head along a first fixed path and traverse a right angle to gain access to an interior space of a pipe. The second sealing head has a second seal element and a second sliding engagement. The second sliding engagement permits the second sliding head to slide relative to the first sealing head along a second fixed path and traverse the right angle to gain access to an interior space of the pipe.

  • Patent number: 8706692
Abstract: CIMS can provide users with essential resources; provide a mechanism for instantly creating, modifying, and delivering infrastructure data that used to take hours or days; improve the efficiency of systems interfacing with it while reducing costly infrastructure; ensure audit and regulatory requirements are satisfied by automatically creating and recording a history of all application transactions; eliminate the cost overhead and human error associated with manual, time-consuming work currently performed by many systems administrators on each disparate system; and be transparent to end users, thereby defraying the costs of time off the job normally incurred with retraining CIMS offers the functionality of the disparate applications and consistently interfaces with the underlying infrastructure. As a result, infrastructure providers do not have to communicate directly with a vast array of business applications.
