  • Publication number: 20170143253
Abstract: A device for detecting momentary sleep is shown. The device includes a video recording device for video-based monitoring of a person and of an eye area of the person, the video recording device being configured to record a sequence of pictures of the person and of the eye area and to output same to a threshold determination device. The threshold determination device is configured to derive one or more thresholds individually adapted to the person from the sequence of pictures. Moreover, the device includes a threshold evaluator configured to decide, on the basis of the one or more individually adapted thresholds, whether or not the person has momentarily fallen asleep, the one or more individually adapted thresholds being utilized for establishing whether or not the thresholds have been passed within the actual time curve of the eye opening and, thus, whether or not the person has momentarily fallen asleep.

  • Patent number: 8047568
Abstract: An airbag module for a motor vehicle includes a gas sack that can be inflated with gas to protect an occupant, a gas generator for generating the gas provided for inflating the gas sack, and an additional cooling device comprising an openable reservoir for storing a coolant. The reservoir is opened when the gas sack is inflated, so that the coolant for cooling the gas used to inflate the gas sack can come into contact with the gas. The cooling device comprises a movement generating device that opens the reservoir to release the coolant.

  • Publication number: 20110025031
Abstract: An airbag module for a motor vehicle is provided. The airbag module comprises an airbag, which is inflatable with gas to protect an occupant, a gas generator for generating the gas provided for inflating the airbag, and an additional cooling device, which comprises a reservoir for storing a coolant. The reservoir being designed to be opened, such that the coolant may come into contact with the gas used to inflate the airbag to cool said gas. The coolant comprises at least one propanediol. The inflated airbag defines an interior of the airbag that has a volume, wherein the cooling device is adapted to inject between 0.15 and 1.00 ml coolant per liter of the volume of the airbag into the interior of the airbag.
