  • Patent number: 10594692
Abstract: A system and method for mitigating security vulnerabilities of a computer network by detecting a management status of an endpoint computing device attempting to authenticate to one or more computing resources accessible via the computer network includes: detecting an authentication attempt by the endpoint computing device to the computer network; during the authentication attempt, collecting management status indicia from the endpoint computing device, wherein the management status indicia comprise data used to determine a management status of the endpoint computing device; using the management status indicia to identify the management status of the endpoint computing device and identifying the management status of the endpoint computing device; and controlling access to the computer network based on (a) whether the authentication attempt by the endpoint computing device is successful and (b) the identified management status of the endpoint computing device.

  • Patent number: 9578995
Abstract: A hanger for a shower curtain comprises two opposing direction hooks and a captive roller for riding along the top of a curtain rod. A base part of the hanger has a hub with both a hook and a cradle at the lower end of a shank. The hook faces in one planar direction and a cradle faces in the opposite direction. The base comprises a spindle lying in said plane; the roller is rotatably captured on said spindle. The cap portion of a closure mounts on the free end of the spindle to keep the roller in place. The closure comprises a hook portion at the end of the shank; the hook portion mates with the cradle of the base. Preferably, the closure is rotatable about the spindle end, so that when the closure hook is disengaged from the cradle there is an opening which enables the hanger to be mounted and dismounted from a curtain rod.

  • Patent number: 9388837
Abstract: A twist-locking mechanism for two telescoping tubes, as may comprise a curtain rod, comprises a sleeve which expands outwardly as it moves along the screw of a screw body. A tapered or straight screw connects to a plain shaft portion upon which the sleeve rests when the device is in the unlock position. In another embodiment, the pitch or profile of the thread of a straight screw changes along the length of the screw, so the sleeve is forced radially outwardly as it moves from the unlock position. Split-sleeves useful in the locking mechanism have spring like features or an oblong shape, so the sleeve is biased outwardly to frictionally engage one the tube when the sleeve is at the unlock position.

  • Publication number: 20130281960
Abstract: The present invention improves upon previous advances in medication dispensing with an adjustable blister card package that delivers a custom patient schedule of medication based on a timing of a particular future event. The individual components of short term, complex medication regimens may be adjacent to indicator apertures which populate with times once a user selects the time of the future event using an adjustable time selector. The invention contemplated herein may result in improved patient compliance, improved patient satisfaction, improved patient safety, improved communication between health care providers and a decrease in medication error rates.

  • Patent number: 8561667
Abstract: A window treatment, in which a shade is raised and lowered, is comprised of a roller upon which shade material is reeled and unreeled. A wand drives a universal joint, preferably a uniquely configured knuckle joint, and the universal joint drives a flexible shaft which is connected to the roller. Special shaping of the parts and slots of the U shape links of mating knuckles enables smooth and positive universal joint operation. A user may pull down on the wand, to bend the flexible shaft and bring the knuckles into alignment, whereupon turning of the wand rotates the roller. When the wand is released the resilience of the flexible shaft helps lift the driven knuckle so it is parallel to the horizontal roller, and the drive roller moves to a home position which inhibits counter-rotation of the roller due to the weight of the shade.

  • Patent number: 8214938
Abstract: A shower bar assembly that includes a pair of mounting brackets configured and arranged to be mounted to a wall of a shower stall is disclosed. Each of the mounting brackets has a base portion with a first shelf and a second shelf projecting from the base portion. The first and second shelves each have a retaining peg projecting from each shelf, respectively. A tubular shower bar is included and has two opposing ends. Each of the ends of the tubular shower bar has a pair of surfaces in which each defines an aperture through the tubular shower bar. Each end of the tubular shower bar is configured and arranged to slide onto the first and second shelves of the mounting brackets, with the apertures interlocking with each of the retaining pegs, respectively, to suspend the shower bar between the mounting brackets and to prevent the shower bar from rotating between the brackets.
