Publication number: 20220265852Abstract: The present invention contemplates allele-specific gene editing based on targeting a heterozygous single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in a protein coding sequence associated with a genetic disease. The data shown herein demonstrates that the outcome of such gene editing creates a nonesense mutation that results in a marked and selective reduction of mutant protein without affecting wild type protein expression. Expression of a single CRISPR-Cas9 nuclease in neurons generated a high frequency of mutations in the targeted HD allele that included both small insertion/deletion mutations and viral vector insertions. Thus, as disclosed herein, allele-specific targeting of InDel and insertion mutations to heterozygous coding SNPs provides a feasible approach to inactivate autosomal dominant mutations that cause genetic disease.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 12, 2022Publication date: August 25, 2022Inventors: Michael Harry Brodsky, Neil Aronin, Sarah Rinde Oikemus

Patent number: 10983312Abstract: An optical system for panoramic stereoscopic imaging can include an outer reflector and an inner reflector, which can both be configured to reflect light to a camera. The outer reflector can include striations or other reflection elements to turn the light that is reflected to the camera such that first and second light rays that are parallel and offset from each other (e.g., suitable for stereoscopic 3D viewing) can be reflected by the respective outer and inner reflectors to the camera. The outer reflector can be partially reflective and partially transmissive so that some light can pass through the outer reflector to be reflected by the inner reflector to the camera. The camera can capture a single image having a first portion that corresponds to a view generated by the inner reflector, and a second portion that corresponds to a stereoscopically offset view generated by the outer reflector.Type: GrantFiled: February 29, 2016Date of Patent: April 20, 2021Assignee: ARKIVE CORPORATIONInventors: Michael Harry Rose, Jonathan Emanuel Rose, Brian Zeyar Kobler

Patent number: 10866881Abstract: A method for firmware debug trace capture includes creating a hand-off block (“HOB”), capturing first debug trace statements during a boot sequence of a computer and writing the first debug trace statements to the HOB. A trace memory buffer can be created and the first debug trace statements can be copied from the HOB to the trace memory buffer. Second debug trace statements are captured during the boot sequence and appended to the trace memory buffer. In some configurations, the first debug trace statements can be written to the HOB during the pre-Extensible Firmware Interface initialization (“PEI”) phase of the boot sequence and the second debug trace statements can be written to the trace memory buffer during the driver execution (“DXE”) phase of the boot sequence.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2020Date of Patent: December 15, 2020Assignee: American Megatrends International, LLCInventors: Michael Harry Deiderich, III, Matthew Hoffmann, Thomas Gilreath

Patent number: 10628309Abstract: Technologies are disclosed herein for configuring a system memory of a computer system by determining which, of a plurality, of serial presence detect (SPD) tables to utilize, based at least in part on settings of one or more GPIO pins. The computer system may be available with variations of the configuration of system memory. The SPD tables corresponding to each of the different configurations of the system memory may be stored on the computer system, such as on an NVRAM of the computer system. After identifying the appropriate SPD table, a processor may load the SPD table to a memory reference code of the computer system. In some cases, the state GPIO pins indicating the system memory configuration is set at the time of manufacture of the computer system.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2017Date of Patent: April 21, 2020Assignee: American Megatrends International, LLCInventor: Michael Harry Deiderich, III

Publication number: 20190198002Abstract: While traditional wind chimes typically produce pleasing sounds, the notes are random and at the mercy of which way the wind blows. The Captive Wind Chime overcomes this by keeping the chimes stationary and instead using a striker attached to a spinning rod to play notes in order. With the addition of one or more other “layers” of chimes and strikers, it can also produce polyphonic chords. Because of the pivoting blades and clutch the speed of the notes are partially regulated, allowing in its simplest form the rendition of traditional public domain melodies such as “God Bless America” or “How Great Thou Art”. In its most complex form it can produce synchronized polyphonic chord shape in whatever scale desired.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 2, 2016Publication date: June 27, 2019Inventor: Michael Harry Brown
