  • Patent number: 11591955
Abstract: A method for operating a power plant having a gas turbine, a heat recovery steam generator, a steam turbine, an auxiliary heat source, and a control system, wherein the method includes controlling the power plant such that the heat recovery steam generator receives an input of heat from the gas turbine; determining the gas turbine is operating at its maximum capacity or at an upper end of its control range and the power plant is operating at less than a target value for a power plant capacity; determining a target pressure value immediately upstream of the steam turbine, wherein the target pressure value is derived from a primary pressure for the steam turbine and a steam turbine capacity for the steam turbine; based upon the target pressure value, controlling the heat store to release heat into the heat recovery steam generator to achieve the predefined power plant capacity.

  • Publication number: 20220214372
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for dispensing a of fluidic sample to each of a plurality of targets are disclosed. An example apparatus for dispensing a fluidic sample includes an inlet port to input a sample material, and a first sample nozzle and a second sample nozzle fluidically coupled to the inlet port to expel the sample material, wherein a tubular junction fluidically couples the inlet port to a first tubular fluid path that terminates in the first sample nozzle and to a second tubular fluid path that terminates in the second sample nozzle, wherein a cross-sectional area of the tubular junction is less than an average cross-sectional area of the first tubular fluid path and the second tubular fluid path, and wherein the cross-sectional area of the tubular junction is selected to draw the sample material from the inlet port into the tubular junction via capillary action.

  • Publication number: 20210285369
Abstract: A contact arm and a method for a disconnect switch, having a profile body and a contact element in electrical contact with the profile body to establish electrical contact with a contact counterpart. The profile body has a first diameter parallel to the contact element. The contact element has a concave surface with a radius of curvature and is arranged on a side directed away from the profile body. The radius of curvature is smaller than the radius of curvature of a circle segment having the first diameter of the profile body. The method includes a contact element of the contact arm establishing electrical and/or mechanical contact with a contact counterpart. A concave surface of the contact element which is directed towards the contact counterpart has a radius of curvature, which is smaller than the radius of curvature of a circle segment having the maximum diameter of the contact element.

  • Publication number: 20130341966
Abstract: A suspension system for a cab of an off-road vehicle includes a superstructure configured to receive a cab frame. The superstructure forms a framework, the corners of which receive suspension assemblies and dampers. The suspension assemblies include one or more springs or resilient elements to resist suspension motion, and the dampers provide dampening of the motion. Lateral and longitudinal suspension motions are resisted by links between the corners of the superstructure. An anti-roll bar reduces roll. The entire suspension system may be pre-assembled and then joined to the vehicle chassis frame. The cab frame may then be placed on the suspension system. Parts of the suspension system may interface with and be housed by roll-over protective structures.

  • Publication number: 20070218748
Abstract: A crimping apparatus includes a support structure with an alignment element and a plurality of retainers movably attached to the support structure and radially arranged about an axis of the crimping apparatus. Each retainer includes an engagement structure. The crimping apparatus further includes a plurality of crimping members with an engagement element. Each engagement element is configured to interact with the engagement structure of a respective one of the plurality of retainers to removably connect each of the crimping members to a respective one of the plurality of retainers. The crimping apparatus further includes a tool configured to simultaneously support the plurality of crimping members. The tool includes an alignment structure configured to interact with the alignment element of the support structure to provide substantial radial alignment between the engagement element of each of the crimping members and the corresponding engagement structure of the respective retainers.

  • Patent number: 6912855
Abstract: The aim of the invention is to improve a method for the primary control so that reserve power that is practically completely available for the effective frequency boost within seconds is available also in the stem turbine part of a gas/steam turbine installation. To this end, the pressure stage is operated with a control valve (6, 7, 8) that is throttled to such an extent that a frequency boost power reserve is built up. Said power reserve is used for frequency boosting in the event of an underfrequency by correcting the desired value depending on the underfrequency. Said corrected value corresponds to an effective area of the flow that is increased vis-â-vis the throttled condition of the control valve (6, 7, 8) and acts on the effective area of flow of the control value (6, 7, 8) with an impressed signal that approaches zero after a predetermined time.

  • Patent number: 6037943
Abstract: A navigator for permitting a presenter to randomly access digitized foils with minimal audience distraction. The navigator includes an on-screen indicator with several fields in a narrow band format that identifies the specific digital foil currently displayed on a presentation medium and also identifies the other digitized foils in the same unit. Using a selector, such as a pointer or keystroke, the presenter can select any other digitized foil within the same unit to replace the current display. To move outside of a specific unit, the presenter simply selects a different unit in the same or a different section within the same module or a different module by selecting other fields displayed on the indicator, again by using a pointer or keystroke. The indicator itself may be hidden from view when not in use, and when in use, may be the same background color as the displayed foil or even be entirely blocked from the audience's view to minimize audience distraction.

  • Patent number: 5551905
Abstract: A device for successively displaying a plurality of images includes a plurality N of overlying panels where N is at least 3. Each of the panels defines a longitudinal series of flexible slats and louvers between the slats, the slats being longitudinally longer than the louvers. Each of the slats of all underlying panels are interleaved longitudinally through the louvers of all overlying panels, the slats of each panel cooperatively defining one of the plurality of images. Each of the slats of an overlying panel is laterally narrower than the slats of all underlying panels.
