  • Patent number: 8710955
Abstract: An automated gate system (AGS) for processing vehicles entering and exiting a controlled access facility via a single common traffic flow. The AGS provides a single portal receiving both ingress and egress vehicle traffic as a common traffic flow sharing a same access road. The access road feeds a multi-lane gated sub-system having associated kiosks providing an interface for obtaining vehicle and driver related information and which have a combined inbound/outbound gate for controlling ingress and egress movement of vehicles of the common traffic flow in and out from the controlled access facility. A computer system receives signals from the portal and the kiosks representing a status of the vehicles alone or in combination with driver information for controlling gate operation of each of the gates. Thereby, both ingress and egress routes are controlled, and both ingress and egress movement of the vehicles regarding the access facility is controlled.

  • Publication number: 20110274799
Abstract: A mold inhibiting emulsion including: an aqueous phase that includes water; a non-aqueous phase that may optionally include an oil; at least one emulsifier; and at least one mold inhibitor. Also provided is a method of inhibiting mold growth on edible baked products (e.g., bread) that involves applying the mold inhibiting emulsion of the present invention to the exterior surfaces of unbaked dough from which the edible baked product is prepared. The mold inhibiting emulsion may be applied to contact surfaces of a vessel in which dough is baked, and then to upper portions of the dough after it has been placed into the treated vessel. An apparatus for treating the exterior surfaces of unbaked dough with spray applied liquids, is further provided. The apparatus includes first and second spray stations each including a primary spray assembly and a secondary spray assembly activated if the primary spray assembly fails.

  • Publication number: 20100325155
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing access to an information stream in a format customized for a receiving device involve a network-based information storage and distribution system for receiving, storing, and distributing an information stream to a user of the information stream over a network. The system receives media files and converts the media files into multiple formats. When a user attempts to access the media files, such as by browsing a site containing the media files or clicking on a link to the media files, a determination is made as to the type of device attempting to access the files. A database of devices and what file formats, resolutions, codecs, etc., they support is consulted to select a file format suitable for that device. Then, the selected media files are displayed or made available for download or transmission to the user's device in a format compatible with the particular device.

  • Publication number: 20100325220
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for receiving and processing a subscription request by e-mail to an information stream. The systems and methods involve a network-based information storage and distribution system for receiving, storing, and distributing an information stream to a subscriber of the information stream over a network. The system receives an e-mail subscription request from a subscriber seeking to subscribe to an information stream, where the e-mail subscription request includes stream-identifying information identifying the information stream to which the subscriber wishes to subscribe; and an e-mail address for the subscriber, which may simply be determined by way of examining the return e-mail address of the e-mail sender from the e-mail. The e-mail is used to determine which information stream is to be subscribed to from the stream-identifying information, and the subscriber's e-mail address is used to provide access to the information stream to the subscriber.

  • Publication number: 20100180186
Abstract: A method for storage and distribution of electronic publications by content creators and online publishers with referral-based commissions utilizes a repository of products and an associated delivery system. An invitor registers with the system and provides referral addresses to the system, which sends an electronic invitation to use the system to the addresses. The recipients can use the system to purchase electronic publication products and/or to sell their own electronic publication products. Commissions are provided to the invitor based on purchases by the recipients of the invitations and/or based on sales of products on the system by recipients of the invitations.

  • Publication number: 20100070901
Abstract: Systems and methods for in-line viewing of files of multiple types, including files in mixed file formats, utilizing a single viewer or player are described. A single viewer is capable of displaying multiple file formats of both static and dynamic nature. The viewer may be used to display a wide variety of content accessible from a single web page, and web designers need only embed the single viewer to access many content types. The viewer receives a selection of a file to access and identifies the file type of the selected file. The viewer provides proper controls associated with the file type and displays or provides other access to the selected file. Thus the viewer provides a more streamlined experience to the user and simplifies accessing files of various file types. The viewer may be embedded in a web page or may be provided in a pop-up or modal window.

  • Publication number: 20100070533
Abstract: Systems and methods for in-line viewing of files over a network such as the Internet are described. The files are organized into groups or lists, thus forming one or more products. The file or files in a single product may include files of various formats. The user uploading files can input or select the order in which the files of the product are to be displayed/played/accessed by other users. When a file is accessed, a determination is made as to the type of file to be accessed and a player or viewer appropriate for the file type is used to provide access to the file for the user. As each subsequent file in the product is accessed, the determination of the appropriate viewer or player is repeated and access to the file is provided accordingly. Multiple files may be simultaneously accessed using multiple players. Access restrictions may also be provided.
