  • Patent number: 5730319
Abstract: An improved business-person's holder and hygienic seeming dispenser for standard business-cards, constructed as to provide novel convenience advantage of dispensing outward from one of the long-sides of a rectangular housing, by biasing of a dispensing button forward from a rearward ready position. The notion of the invention being to keep the cards of virtually any gauge-thickness hygienically clean and wrinkle-free, while providing a repetitively reliable rapid-action, and relatively elegant modality by which to introduce oneself to others. A novel actuator-mechanism is included wherein by virtue of thumb-pressure applied to the dispensing button it thereby simultaneously tilts-over slightly as to lower a close-coupled friction-pad down upon the upward-face of uppermost card stacked into the housing. The uppermost card is thus frictionably transported away from the remaining stack, to an outwardly position exhibiting about 80% of the card's face to the customer to which it is being presented.

  • Patent number: 4918790
Abstract: A cam buckle for adjustably securing a strip of web-like material includes a pair of side walls having front and rear ends, a top wall extending between the side walls, a first bar extending between the side walls below the top wall and a second bar slidably mounted between the first bar and the top wall. A loop is pivotally attached to the side walls rearwardly of the second bar, and one end of the strip is secured to the loop. The buckle is pivotable relative to the loop between locked and unlocked positions. The other end of the strip is looped around the second bar when the buckle is in the unlocked position, and the end of the strip is secured to the remainder of the strip by hook and loop fasteners. The buckle may be cammed over center to the locked position to tighten the strip.

  • Patent number: 4165854
Abstract: A chair locking device engageable with a movable member for retaining same in a selected position relative to a stationary support member. The locking device includes a barrel mounted on the stationary member and a plunger within the barrel having an eccentrically mounted pawl on the engagement end thereof movable into and out of a selected one of a plurality of sockets in the movable member in response to movement of a cam follower on the plunger along a cam surface of the barrel. The pawl is mounted on the plunger so that the pawl rotates into a downward position relative to the plunger axis when fully extended into the selected socket. Movement of the cam follower is effected by a handle in engagement with the cam follower and cooperating portions on the cam and lock structure retain the plunger at an end of its travel until relative movement is positively effected by rotating the handle.
