  • Patent number: 11980568
Abstract: A medical appliance for the treatment of one or more sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea in a patient, the appliance comprising: a biasing member for inserting behind and exerting a force upon the patient's soft palate or tongue, wherein the biasing member is inserted in a reduced or minimized form and then expanded or firms once in place to exert the force. The appliance may be nasally inserted or be placed through the mouth. In a particular configuration, both the soft palate and tongue are biased to prevent obstruction of the flow of air in the nasopharyngeal airway.

  • Publication number: 20240142930
Abstract: A building system including one or more storage devices storing instructions thereon that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to ingest information comprising at least one of occupancy information or energy usage information associated with a building. The instructions further cause the one or more processors to generate a space usage recommendation based on the information. The instructions further cause the one or more processors to cause a graphical model of the building to include a representation of the information and the space usage recommendation. The instructions further cause the one or more processors to cause a display device of a user device to display the graphical model within a user interface.

  • Patent number: 7051856
Abstract: An apparatus for applying and releasing a clutch piston in a clutch cylinder against a return spring includes a fill oil chamber having first and second portions separated by a fill piston. The first portion is in fluid communication with the clutch cylinder through a first passage, and the second portion is in fluid communication with a second passage. A third passage is in fluid communication with the first passage. A fill control valve is operative to alternately communicate the second passage to a transmission line pressure passage or an exhaust passage. The fill control valve is further operative to alternately communicate the third passage to a controllable source of pressurized oil having a signal pressure, or to close the third passage.

  • Publication number: 20030085715
Abstract: A fault is located in a power distribution system having a line frequency. The power distribution system includes a plurality of phases, at least one feeder, and each feeder includes at least one segment. The fault is located by detecting a faulted phase from the plurality of phases of the power distribution system. A measurement signal having a measurement frequency is injected into the detected faulted phase, the measurement frequency being a different frequency than the line frequency. The fault location is determined for a selected segment based on at least one measured residual current corresponding to the injected signal and a predetermined relative impedance of the power distribution system.

  • Patent number: 5188374
Abstract: A seal for the rotating annular interface between a transmission input shaft and surrounding piston drum is uniquely configured as a single, integral part. A circular trough with two annular side walls is machined into the input shaft. The seal includes two annular side rings sized to contact the inside of the piston drum radially, and to contact the side walls of the trough axially. A bridging section joins the two side rails, and also preloads them into the trough side walls. Therefore, when hydraulic fluid is pumped between the side rails, it is prevented from leaking between the side rings and side walls and into the interface.

  • Patent number: 4638678
Abstract: A manual transmission control mechanism has a selector mechanism including a lever movable along a neutral path to a plurality of forward gear positions and a reverse gear position. The lever is rotatable from the neutral position to gear ratio selected positions. The control mechanism also includes an inhibitor mechanism having a lever which is spring-loaded into the path of the selector lever and is movable linearly, against the spring, through abutment with the selector lever when the selector lever is moved along the neutral path to the highest forward ratio and reverse ratio position. The spring mechanism returns the inhibitor lever to align with the selector lever when the selector lever is rotated to the highest forward gear ratio selected position.
