  • Patent number: 5765510
Abstract: A retractable sootblower for avoiding and dislodging accumulated soot and ash. The sootblower includes an elongate housing and a blowing tube or blowing tube assembly reciprocable in the housing. The blowing tube is extended and retracted by pressurized gas. Pressurized gas is also applied to the sootblower. An internal gas channeling arrangement couples the pressurized gas to the blowing tube when the blowing tube is extended. The pressurized gas is thus discharged from the blowing tube when the blowing tube is extended. Additional structure is provided for rotating the blowing tube as it moves from the retracted position to the extended position.

  • Patent number: 5644809
Abstract: The present invention is a cervical pillow designed to be used by people while they sleep. The cervical pillow comprises a top portion having a neck support and a head support. A shoulder ledge extends from the top portion along the front edge of the pillow to accommodate the sleeper's shoulder when the sleeper rolls to one side. The cervical pillow has a V-shaped pocket formed in the bottom portion of the pillow under the shoulder ledge to accommodate a sleeper's shoulder. A first and second arm channel extends angularly from the V-shaped pocket to accommodate the sleeper's arm as the arm is extended under the pillow. Each arm channel has a shoulder opening in communication with the V-shaped pocket and a hand end which may extend to the back edge of the pillow adjacent to a side edge. Each arm channel is formed at an angle relative to the front of the pillow.

  • Patent number: 5566333
Abstract: A computer system that incorporates an SQL type relational database is adapted to enterprises in which human performance is to be managed. There is a single table that contains linking information for multiple entity relationships among a plurality of information entities. Programs that cooperate with the database kernel include an entity relation manager for modifying the linker table to dynamically define entity relationships among the information entities; a hierarchal structure manager for dynamically defining hierarchal relationships among objects in the information entities; a load/unload utility, for changing information between a human-readable format and another format having a syntax acceptable to the database kernel; and an editor which provides an environment that enables a human operator to conveniently interact with the relational database.
