  • Patent number: 9483718
Abstract: Examples of techniques for encoding data in a 2D symbology are disclosed. In one example implementation according to aspects of the present disclosure, a computer-implemented method for encoding data in a 2D symbology is provided. The method includes assigning a first color representative of a 0-bit and a second color representative of a 1-bit. The method further includes designating a starting indicator and an ending indicator. The method also includes generating, by a processor, the 2D symbology, the 2D symbology includes a series of data segments and null segments representing a binary string. The series of data segments and null segments starts with the starting indicator and ends with the ending indicator. The data segments include 0-bit segments of the first color and 1-bit segments of the second color. The null segments are positioned between each of the data segments and are of a third color.

  • Patent number: 9286585
Abstract: A method for determining quality includes receiving supplier quality data from a supplier. The supplier quality data includes discrete quality data. The supplier quality data is for a quantity of a component supplied to a company or for a service provided on behalf of the company over a supplier measurement period. The method includes aggregating quality data from two or more suppliers. The quality data is for the supplied component or provided service over a baseline time period. The method includes determining a quality benchmark using the aggregated quality data and setting one or more alarm levels. The alarm levels are based on the quality benchmark of the aggregated quality data. The method includes determining supplier quality level for the supplier for the supplier measurement time period. The supplier quality is based on the supplier quality data. The method includes determining if the supplier quality data exceeds an alarm level.

  • Patent number: 7822796
Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of the invention relates to a method, system, and storage medium for facilitating part qualification functions in a communication network environment. The method comprises creating a commodity template for a commodity associated with a supplier part. Creating a commodity template further comprises entering requirement data for qualifying the commodity and selecting at least one database in a part qualification repository for storing the requirements data. The part qualification repository comprises a parts database, a technology survey database, a quality information network database, and archives database, and a system testing database. The method further comprises assigning a default viewing tool for qualifying the commodity based upon the database selected and establishing access restriction operable for restricting and authorizing viewing and editing capabilities associated with the commodity template.

  • Patent number: 7454362
Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of the invention relates to a computer-based method and system for gathering materials and technology information from internal as well as external sources, integrating the information into a format accessible to disparate systems, storing the information in a centralized system, updating the stored information as needed, and providing continuous access to the information for authorized users of the system. The Development Toolkit Network (DTN) of the present invention is a set of applications designed to facilitate the gathering of technical information about supplier product offerings, and to disseminate that information to an organization's development engineers around the globe.

  • Publication number: 20080162226
Abstract: A system for facilitating supplier qualification and quality management functions includes an application executing on a host system and a web-based user interface provided by the application, the web-based user interface collaboratively enabling qualification of suppliers, parts, and technologies over a network. The system also includes a shared data repository and a workstation in communication with the host system, and a supplier in communication with the host system via the user interface and network. The collaborative qualification includes acquiring supplier capabilities, part data, and supplier technology data from a collaborative source via the user interface. The collaborative qualification also includes storing acquired data in the shared data repository, and performing quality management functions via the user interface and shared data repository.
