    Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure relate to tonneau covers include spring assemblies that facilitate loading and unloading of panels linearly and with high stability. Such spring assemblies and other features of follower assemblies can provide smooth deployment and retraction of the tonneau cover. A tonneau cover can include individual panels that interlock with each other upon deployment and disconnect from each other upon retraction to controllably cover a truck bed or other region of a vehicle, such as a truck.
