  • Publication number: 20120038434
Abstract: A composite inductor/capacitor including spaced apart sheets of conductive material formed into a spiral with the sheets being spaced apart by a dielectric material with terminals being provided on opposing sheets at opposite ends. A gaped or ungapped ferrite core may form a magnetic loop path about the component Multiple conductive layers may be used to vary capacitance, inductance and load handling. The component may find application in high frequency (above 20 kHz) power converters (such as series-resonant power converters, phase-shifted Zero Voltage Transition full-bridge converters, asymmetric half-bridge ZVT converters or parallel-resonant converters), high frequency induction heater circuits, high frequency welder circuits and the like.

  • Publication number: 20100290174
Abstract: A power component magazine and power components for the magazine utilise a common foam factor enabling one magazine to accommodate a range of power components of different capacity. A wiring system is employed that simplifies wiring of the magazine during assembly. The magazine construction provides protection against incorrect power components being inserted in a magazine.

  • Publication number: 20100014322
Abstract: A switched mode power supply allowing a half bridge converter to be use alone or in combination with another converter to form a full bridge converter. A common controller may be used for either half bridge or full bridge configurations. The modular approach simplifies design for a range of power supplies and reduces costs.

  • Publication number: 20090323380
Abstract: A three phase full resonant cyclo-converter suitable for converting a three phase AC supply to a DC output. In one embodiment the cycloconverter controls switching frequency to control converter output and adjusts phase on times for power factor correction. A switching sequence is employed which provides resonant switching to reduce losses and component ratings. The converter provides high conversion efficiency with a simple power component design.

  • Patent number: 6434502
Abstract: A test data system includes a first computer system that has an electronic logbook. Test results are entered into the electronic logbook by the user/test person. The electronic logbook contains the e-mail address of a logbook program in a second computer system. The test results are forwarded by e-mail to the logbook program, which parses the test results and formats them for the entry in a test results database of a test management system. A test management system program is run to update the test results database with the test results and sends confirmation and/or any error messages back to the user at the first computer system.
