  • Patent number: 10982709
Abstract: A remote control assembly includes a sheath (22) having a longitudinal axis along a length thereof and defining an interior. A core element is disposed within the interior and extends along the length. A liner is disposed within the interior and coupled to the sheath (22). The liner surrounds the core element along the length. An outer layer (38) comprising a first material is coupled to the sheath (22). An intermediate layer (41) comprising a second material different from the first material is coupled to the outer layer (38). An inner layer (42) comprising a third material different from the first and second materials and is coupled to the intermediate layer (41). The second material of the intermediate layer (41) comprises an elastomeric material.

  • Patent number: 10190620
Abstract: A remote control assembly includes a sheath having a longitudinal axis along a length thereof and defining an interior. A liner is disposed within the interior and coupled to the sheath. A wire has an outer surface and the wire disposed between and coupled to the sheath and the liner. The outer surface of the wire defines a plurality of notches separated into a first group of notches and a second group of notches. Each notch within each of the first and second groups defines a first distance therebetween substantially along the longitudinal axis. The first group of notches and the second group of notches define a second distance therebetween. The second distance is greater than the first distance.

  • Publication number: 20170236619
Abstract: A cable for use in a remote control assembly includes a liner having a longitudinal axis along a length thereof and defining an interior. The cable includes a core element disposed and moveable within the interior and extending along the length. The cable additionally includes a sheath disposed about the liner along the length. The cable further includes a support layer mounted to and disposed between the liner and the sheath, with the support layer supporting the liner along the length, reinforcing the sheath along the length, reducing movement of the sheath with respect to the liner and vibrations caused during movement of the core element, and minimizing bending of the liner and the sheath about the longitudinal axis. The support layer is comprised of a resin material.
