  • Patent number: 11235258
Abstract: Systems and method for generating a vanishing illusion special effect are provided. One approach involves two rooms that mirror each other and are separated by a wall. The wall includes a frame through which the transition glass is configured to move. The transition glass includes a mirrored portion and a transparent portion. A controller may instruct an actuator to move the transition glass such that the mirrored portion is in alignment or out of alignment relative to the frame. In a further embodiment, a first ride vehicle and a second ride vehicle mirror each other and are separated by a transition glass that also includes a mirrored portion and a transparent portion. A controller may regulate the movement of the first ride vehicle and the second ride vehicle from a position in alignment to a position out of alignment relative to the mirrored portion or the transparent portion.

  • Publication number: 20210350596
Abstract: An augmented reality (AR) diagnostic tool embodied as a software application on a portable device employs AR infrastructure to enable a user to locate a failed/malfunctioning node of a cluster and, with minimal interaction, diagnose causes and provide recommendations to repair the node. The portable device may be a computer embodied as visualization technology and configured to execute the software application. Once installed, the AR diagnostic (ARD) tool is ready for use by the user, e.g., a customer service technician, to locate and repair one or more failed cluster nodes. In response to a failure/malfunction, the cluster node sends diagnostic and configuration information (i.e., failure/malfunction information) of the failed node to an analytics service. The failure information informs the technician of the cluster failure. The technician may then activate the ARD tool and AR infrastructure to locate and repair the failed node.

  • Patent number: 11058959
Abstract: A ride system includes a platform assembly that receives a ride vehicle for transporting a ride passenger, an upward drive pulley system, and a downward drive pulley system. The upward drive pulley system is drivingly coupled to the platform assembly and upwardly drives motion of the platform assembly along a vertical axis oriented along a gravity vector. The downward drive pulley system is drivingly coupled to the platform assembly and downwardly drives motion of the platform assembly along the vertical axis. Additionally, upwardly and downwardly driving motion of the platform assembly exposes the ride passenger to a plurality of entertainment shows, and the entertainment shows are positioned on a different vertical level with respect to one another.

  • Patent number: 11035851
Abstract: Methods of identifying potential skin moisturizing actives for the treatment of dry skin and method of formulating a moisturizing skin care composition using actives identified by the method. Moisturizing agents can be identified by comparing the transcriptional profile of a skin tissue sample contacted by a test agent to a negative or positive control to determine if the regulation of certain genes corresponds to the appropriate direction of regulation indicated by the control. Agents identified as skin moisturizing agents can then be incorporated into a skin moisturizing composition.
