Patent number: 6412887Abstract: A chain master link has first and second link parts having outer ends centered on respective substantially parallel first and second axes and coupled-together inner ends. Each inner end is formed with at least one tooth extending transversely across a plane including the two axes and having an inner face turned toward the respective axis and forming with the plane an angle of at least 90° open away from the respective axis. The teeth are engaged together with the inner faces bearing on each other so that tension pulling the parts apart along the plane pulls the teeth into engagement with each other. Each part is formed with a pocket receiving the tooth of the other part and having an outer face forming with the plane an angle open away from the respective axis and greater than the respective inner-face angle. Thus the two parts can be fitted together simply by pivoting their inner ends toward each other about the respective outer-end axes.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 2000Date of Patent: July 2, 2002Assignee: Intertractor GmbHInventors: Michael Ketting, Friedrich Böttger

Patent number: 6142588Abstract: A drive chain has a plurality of pairs of link elements with the elements each pair extending longitudinally parallel to each other and having relatively widely spaced outer ends formed with transversely open and confronting blind bores and relatively closely spaced inner ends formed with axially throughgoing and transversely aligned bores. Each pair of inner ends lies between a respective pair of outer ends with the bores coaxial and receiving respective pins defining respective transverse axes, each fitting tightly in the bores of the inner ends, and having ends rotatably seated in the respective bores of the respective outer ends. Respective sleeves surround the pins between the respective inner ends. Respective outer seal rings between the outer ends and the pin ends define with the pin ends outer compartments and respective inner seal rings between the inner ends and the sleeve define between the respective pin, sleeve, and inner ends an inner compartment.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 1998Date of Patent: November 7, 2000Assignees: Intertractor Zweigniederlassung der Wirtgen GmbH, IAMT Ingenieursgesellschaft fur Allgemeine Maschinentechnik mbHInventors: Michael Ketting, Frank Frohner, Volker Wottawah

Patent number: 6062327Abstract: A tracked-vehicle drive has a wheel rotatably driven about an axis and having an outer surface, an endless traction element spanned over and frictionally engaging the wheel so as to be advanced thereby when the wheel rotates and having an inner face formed with an endless row of spaced teeth, and an auxiliary drive member displaceable adjacent the traction element and formed with an endless row of spaced entrainment formations in constant mesh with the teeth so that the drive member is displaced synchronously with the traction element. A coupling body having entrainment formations in constant mesh with the drive-member entrainment formations is engageable with the wheel outer surface. The body can be coupled to the wheel for positive driving of the traction element from the wheel via the member and body and can be decoupled from the wheel for frictional coupling of the traction element by the wheel.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 1998Date of Patent: May 16, 2000Assignee: Intertractor Zweigniederlassung der Wirtgen GmbHInventors: Michael Ketting, Piotr Dudzinski, Radoslaw Cieslak

Patent number: 5829850Abstract: A track system for a track vehicle which has a crawler chain and a driving sprocket wheel. The chain has links each of which has a pin assembly with a bushing or one piece bolt the outer periphery of which at least is composed of a material consisting of Si.sub.3 N.sub.4 silicon nitride or a zirconium oxide with at most 15% of sintering additives. The driving sprocket wheel can have segments formed with the teeth and bolted to a disk, the segments being composed of a material consisting of Si.sub.3 N.sub.4 silicon nitride or zirconium oxide with less than 15% of sintering additives.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 1997Date of Patent: November 3, 1998Assignee: Intertractor AktiengesellschaftInventors: Michael Ketting, Mathias Woydt, Wolfgang Kunkel, Friedrich Bottger, Karl-Friedrich Fischer

Patent number: 5803558Abstract: In order to create a track roller for crawler chains, consisting of a track oller body, an axle traversing the same as well as bearings and seals arranged between the track roller body and the axle, whereby the axle is affixed to a mount with its ends axially protruding from the track roller body, which has a long life when used as intended, the invention proposes that the bearings (3) radially arranged between the track roller body (1) and the axle (2) be designed as pivoting bearings, so that the load-caused bending of the track roller body or the axle can follow without jamming.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 1996Date of Patent: September 8, 1998Assignees: Intertractor Aktiengesellschaft, IAMT Ingenieursgesellschaft fur Allgemeine Maschinentechnik mbHInventors: Michael Ketting, Holger Humbek, Thorsten Slowak, Frank Heyer, Harald Becker, Matthias Stauch, Frank Frohner, Heiko Holzapfel

Patent number: 5728019Abstract: A drive system, especially a belt drive for a multi-axial vehicle running gear, has a drive drum about which the belt is looped and provided with a ring with entrainers which engage teeth on the belt when there is slip between the belt and the drum. Limited rotation of the ring relative to the drum may be effected by elliptical spring elements coupling the ring and the drum or by clutches on the drum which frequently lock the ring to the drum so as to effect control engagement of the entrainers with the belt teeth and positive drive of the belt by the drum.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 1996Date of Patent: March 17, 1998Assignee: Intertractor AktiengesellschaftInventors: Harald Becker, Piotr Dudzinski, Michael Ketting
