Abstract: To allow physicians to retrieve relevant medical evidence for decision-making in determining a therapy to be used for a specific patient profile, the invention provides a method for database-based retrieval of a number of medical studies matching a specific patient profile as well as a database for implementing such a method. The results of medical studies can be classified and stored in the database for subsequent querying by a doctor to determine whether any studies match patient-specific criteria. Studies with an exclusion criterion that matches a patient-specific criterion can be screened out of the search results, and multiple studies can be output and/or displayed in such a manner that the studies can be compared against one another.
