Abstract: In a client which contains a web page, having at least one associated modification interface, and at least one applet, with at least one connection existing between the applet and at least one server, the server sends at least one first message to the applet, the applet then sends the modification interface a second message, and the web page is modified taking into account the second message. This produces a server push mechanism in which the web pages are advantageously produced only in HTML. Complex production of the web page in a programming language such as Java is thus not necessary.
