  • Patent number: 8922798
Abstract: In a method for creating a printed product, JDF files are converted into a DOM tree to represent the files in a representation in a main memory of a computer. The conversion, as well as individual processing steps, is time-consuming. To accelerate the encoding and processing steps, a method is performed wherein a file in a first data format is stored in a memory, the file contains information for creating the printed product. The file is decoded into a representation in the main memory. The first data format includes two memory areas, a first memory area contains attributes for method steps to be implemented and/or for materials of the printing process and/or of the printed product. The representation is included in the two memory areas, and the data of a first memory area of the representation are essentially identical with the data of the first memory area of the file.

  • Patent number: 7173738
Abstract: Traps are produced at color boundaries in a print page that is present in the form of run-length encoded image data, by way of distance mapping. Distances of the run lengths to an adjacent color are determined without decoding the run lengths into a pixel matrix, and the traps are produced on the basis of the distances thus determined. For this purpose, distance vectors are determined for the starting point and for the end point of a run length. The distance vectors are in each case recalculated from the comparison with the distance vectors of adjacent run lengths. The new values of the distance vectors replace the previous values of the distance vectors if the magnitudes of the distances of the new values are less than the magnitudes of the distances of the previous values.

  • Patent number: 6683982
Abstract: In a method for image analysis and correction of video signal values in the processing of video films, whereby analysis values with respect to image range, gradation and color cast of the individual frames of the video film are identified by the image analysis of the video signal values, and the correction of the video signal values is implemented on the basis of the analysis values, the video signal values are initially transformed according to a three-dimensional conversion function into the video signal values of an independent and sensation-conforming, equidistant color space. For each frame of a video sequence composed of a plurality of frames, at least one analysis value is determined on the basis of the transformed video signal values. At least one analysis values representative of the video sequence is formed by forming the average of the corresponding analysis values of the frames of the video sequence.

  • Patent number: 6464556
Abstract: A pedagogical doll having a body portion in the form of a letter of the alphabet and including a front portion and a back portion, a pair of legs depending flexibly from the body portion, each leg of the pair of legs including a foot portion extending from the leg, a sole surface formed on the bottom of the foot, and a letter of the alphabet formed on the sole surface; wherein each of the legs is movable from at least a forward facing position such that the sole surface is substantially parallel to a front surface of the body portion, to a rearward facing position.
