  • Patent number: 4811183
Abstract: A miniature florescent tube assembly holder and adapter for use in conjunction with the original manufacture or retrofit replacement of the conventional incandescent bulb and socket assembly of a lamp. The invention comprises a hollow housing having mating first and second housing portions held together by a tamper-resistant connector. An intermediate plate between first and second housing portions may also be provided to facilitate electrical connection with the lamp and power supply. At least one receptacle is disposed either on the interior of the first housing portion or on one surface of the intermediate plate for receiving the base of the fluorescent tube assembly and effecting electrical connection leading to a power supply. The fluorescent tubes themselves, being slightly smaller in circumference than the base, pass through a mating aperture in the second housing portion and, by this arrangement, each fluorescent tube assembly is trapped and secured within the receptacle and housing to prevent theft.

  • Patent number: 4323949
Abstract: A service cable distribution system of the type designed to be embedded in poured concrete flooring and specifically designed to provide for the placement and supply of power and low tension service cables over a given service area over or in the formed floor. Independent and interiorly segregated supply channels extend from a central power closet or supply area along predetermined extensions and are further disposed in interconnected relation with a plurality of aligned junction box assemblies. Circuit breaker facilities are installed in each of the junction box assemblies housing the power cable wherein the circuit breaker serves to electrically interconnect the power cables extending along the main supply line with those extending along a plurality of individual distribution lines through distribution channels.

  • Patent number: 4244484
Abstract: A service fitting assembly of the type attachable to a floor outlet box and accompanying under-floor race way assembly housing electrical power and telephone service cables wherein the cables protrude out of the service fitting assembly into the service area from the under-floor race way assembly. The service fitting assembly includes a base element movable on the interior of a supporting mounting ring for selectively positioning in an outwardly and upwardly extending relation to the mounting ring and the floor surface on which it is mounted. The subject structure allows for liquid cleaning of the floor area without the penetration of water or liquid into the interior of the service fitting assembly. A seal means is provided to exclude such liquid or water leakage into the interior of the service fitting assembly thereby preventing exposure of such liquid to the service cables mounted therein and extending therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4139725
Abstract: An underfloor system of ducts utilized for power and signal distribution utilizes a combination duct junction fitting which provides access to two parallel ducts while maintaining protective isolation between the ducts. The combination fitting serves to join pairs of ducts in end to end spaced apart relation, adjustably support the ducts above a base floor surface, maintain ground integrity of the system and selectively provide a duplex electrical receptacle which can be accessed from the surface and which is mounted substantially in the space between the parallel ducts. A tubular adapter is adjustable to the height of the fill above the fitting and provide for the attachment of either a closure or an above surface fitting.
