  • Patent number: 5851012
Abstract: A game apparatus (20) for propelling a ball (37) towards a target. The game apparatus (20) includes a housing (22), a launching mechanism (32) mounted in a first end portion of the housing, and a rotary-translating target (44) mounted on a second end portion of the housing. The launching mechanism includes a catapult lever (34) biased away from the housing by a spring (42). A rotatable cup (36) for carrying the ball is rotatably carried on the catapult lever. A linkage arm (43) is pivotally connected between the rotatable cup and a mounting post (58). Depression of the catapult lever causes rotation of the rotatable cup and received ball, while release of the catapult lever causes the rotatable cup to impart an axial spin to the ball (37) as it is propelled toward the target. The target moves along a circular path during game play.

  • Patent number: 4269413
Abstract: A pinball game is provided having two pairs of flippers, each pair being coordinately actuated by the pulling of a spring-biased lever toward the user. A spring-loaded ball projecting mechanism is provided operatively coupled by a ratchet to a ball counting device. The ball projecting mechanism is released by displacement of a lever to project the ball and index the ball counting device.

  • Patent number: 4143747
Abstract: A drive for a wheeled vehicle including a hub adapted to receive the driving wheel of such vehicle. The hub receives and rotatably supports an axle having a worm screw thereon and positioned within such hub. The worm in turn supports an eccentrically weighted driver of drum-like configuration so that rotational force transmitted to the axle in either direction traverses the weighted driver back and forth within the hub in a generally upright position. The driver resists rotation with the axle by reason of its eccentrically weighted configuration. Driving contact is made between the outer face of the driver and the inner face of the hub ends at opposite sides thereof so that rotation of the axle will cause driving force to be imparted to the hub in either direction dependent on which end of the hub the driver is contacting.

  • Patent number: 4136871
Abstract: A high speed rotary table ball board game is provided for playing hockey and soccer-like games. The playing surface has a goal at each end. A player controlled movable goalie blocks each goal. The game-piece is driven by curved rotary arms located on each side of the field. One handle is used to rotate all of said arms simultaneously. Rotary motion is imparted to the arms by means of a pawl and ratchet wheel mechanism operated by a player controlled handle. The playing surface is surrounded by sidewalls and a clear plastic cover to keep the gamepiece confined to the playing surface. The playing surface may be hinged at the center for carrying and storage.

  • Patent number: 4095816
Abstract: A toy vehicle is provided having a playing surface also used to steer the front wheel assembly. The vehicle has a straddle seat and is foot propelled. A storage box at the rear of the vehicle also forms a seat back.
