The sleeve further comprises a body portion comprising at least one closed portion preventing access to a trigger of the weapon. The sleeve is shaped to provide access to all loading or unloading components of the weapon. The cavity portion of the sleeve may be further open to receive a handle of the weapon. A method for loading and unloading a weapon using the above weapon safety apparatuses is also provided.

The method comprises providing a weapon safety apparatus; placing the weapon safety apparatus on the weapon thereby preventing access to the trigger of the weapon; and changing the amount of ammunition in the weapon.
