  • Patent number: 8125492
Abstract: A method and apparatus for establishing relationships between attributes of objects is provided. According to one aspect, a set of first user input data that selects a first attribute that is associated with a first object is received. A set of second user input data that selects a second attribute that is associated with a second object is also received. A first set of data that indicates how changes to a value associated with the first attribute are to affect a value associated with the second attribute is then stored.

  • Publication number: 20080320620
Abstract: A new and distinct variety of nectarine tree (Prunus persica) named ‘Hortarine1’ is described. The variety results from selection among a population of open-pollinated seedlings of the peach variety known as ‘Peacharine’ (not patented). The fruit of this new variety has an attractive appearance characterized by yellow skin color with dark red blush, yellow flesh with no anthocyanin present, and intense flavor. The new variety appears suitable for the fresh fruit market and has been named ‘Hortarine1’.

  • Publication number: 20070201721
Abstract: Forensic communication apparatus and method. An apparatus is disclosed for recording image or other data in real time. The apparatus includes a capture device for capturing the image or other information. Once captured, a local verification device is operable to indelibly mark the captured image or other information with a representation of date, time, location and information identifying the creator of the data and location of the capture device. A transmitter is provided for transmitting the locally verified captured image or other information in real time to a secure storage facility. The capture device is operable, after the locally verified captured image or other information is transmitted to the secure storage facility, to receive and verify acknowledgment of the receipt of the transmitted locally verified captured image or other information to the storage facility.

  • Publication number: 20070150517
Abstract: This invention relates to the storage and search retrieval of all types of digital media files, whether allowing the user to create index keys, metatags within each media file(s), provides search and indexing capability. The search terms and index keys are based on contextual elements within the media, including meta data such as time, date and location, but including as well elements within the media itself, such as people or elements (car, animals, street, events, historical location and other) within a picture or a video, audio, voice, spoke word, instruments used in a musical work, or scenes in a movie. An authorized client can then retrieve the media from the remote location. Specific works can then be referenced by means of the generated search terms and index keys.

  • Publication number: 20070057057
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for provisioning the use of multiple readers and/or wireless communication protocols within a defined area are provided. More specifically, a coordinator or the like can be used to manage the activation and deactivation of the multiple readers and/or communication protocols within a single reader such that interference between disparate technologies is avoided.

  • Publication number: 20060262210
Abstract: A method, column circuit, imager and imaging system having noise-reducing and memory-saving capabilities. An offset value for each of a plurality of pixel columns in the imager is generated. A predetermined number of the plurality of pixel columns having corresponding offset values that are greater in value than all other generated offset values are selected. Noise is reduced in each of the selected pixel columns by applying the corresponding offset values to pixel outputs from each selected pixel column. The memory requirements of the imager are reduced by only storing offset values corresponding to the selected pixel columns. Memory is also conserved by reducing bit depth and only storing a single offset value for each of the plurality of pixel columns.

  • Publication number: 20050172010
Abstract: A distributed information network is constructed for gathering information from sites distributed across a globally accessible computer network, i.e., the Internet. The distributed information network preferably includes a root server that stores a list of multiple distributed sites each represented by metadata. A network browser delivers an information search request to the root server, which in response develops a profiled information search request. The information provider of each of the distributed sites stores metadata corresponding to information content that is retrievable in response to the profiled information search request for search results derivable from the information content to which the metadata correspond. A profiled information communication link between the root server and each of the multiple distribution sites enables formation of a path for delivery of the search results to a destination site, from a site or sites represented by the metadata of the profiled information search request.

  • Publication number: 20050010704
Abstract: For any specific, serial hard disk drive that occupies a specific logical position within a personal computer system, A Serial Hard Disk Drive Selector is disclosed that permits the replacement of one physically distinct, permanently mounted serial hard disk drive for another physically distinct, permanently mounted serial hard disk drive within the specific logical position occupied. This Serial Hard Disk Drive Selector simultaneously controls the address/command/data from host to drive connections, the address/command/data from drive to host connections, the ground connections, and the power supply connections of all hard disk drives connected to the Selector. This Serial Hard Disk Drive Selector operates by closing the address, command and control, and data to and from connections, and the power supply connections of the selected serial hard disk drive while opening these connections to all not-selected serial hard disk drives connected to the Serial Hard Disk Drive Selector.

  • Patent number: 6391138
Abstract: A method of fabricating a laminated circuit assembly and the assembly made therefrom including the steps of providing a relatively stiff substrate. A U-shaped slit is cut in the substrate in an area where a peripheral pull tab subsequently is to be located. The side legs of the U-shaped configuration define spaced slit portions. A relatively flexible backing sheet is adhered to a back side of the substrate. The laminated substrate and backing sheet are cut with a peripheral cut intersecting the side legs of the U-shaped slit, with the peripheral cut forming a pull tab projecting outwardly from the U-shaped slit. The pull tab can be grasped and separated from the substrate to strip the backing sheet therefrom.

  • Patent number: 6374235
Abstract: Disclosed is a method, system, and program for performing a join operation on a multi-column table and at least two satellite tables having a join condition. Each satellite table is comprised of multiple rows and at least one join column. The multi-column table is comprised of multiple rows and at least one column corresponding to the join column in each satellite table. A join operation is performed on the rows of the satellite tables to generate concatenated rows of the satellite tables. One of the concatenated rows is joined to the multi-column table and a returned entry from the multi-column table is received. A determination is then made as to whether the returned entry matches the search criteria. If so, a determination is made as to whether one of the satellite tables has duplicates of values in the join column of the returned matching entry or the multi-column table has duplicate entries in the join columns.
