  • Publication number: 20170140250
Abstract: Systems, components, devices, and methods for understanding the content of an image are provided. A non-limiting example is a method for generating suggestions for arranging content based on understanding the contents of an image. The method includes the step of receiving a content file that includes a content region and an image. The method also includes the steps of generating a statistical analysis of the image and calculating a score based on the statistical analysis. The method also includes the step of classifying the image based on comparing the score to a threshold value. Additionally, the method includes the step of generating a suggestion for arranging the content region based on the classification of the image.

  • Patent number: 9610658
Abstract: A clinch pin fastener comprises a lamination of layers bonded face-to-face. The individual layers can be formed by stamping or photo etching and can be bonded together by soldering, by using an adhesive or by ultrasonic bonding. The heads of the outermost layers may include a tab at the top which extends laterally at a 90-degree angle to the outermost layer. The fasteners are preferably constructed by bonding elongate strips to form a continuous string of fasteners joined side-to-side at integral, severable joints located between adjacent heads of the fasteners. The fasteners can be wound about a supply reel without a carrier and thereafter unwound from the reel as they are installed.

  • Patent number: 9563630
Abstract: Technologies are described herein for converting presentations between differing slide dimensions and aspect ratios. During dimensional conversion of a slide, foreground objects placed on the slide by a user are dimensionally scaled and repositioned on the slide based on a change in the overall dimensions of the slide, while background objects on the slide originating from a slide master associated with the slide are replaced with corresponding background objects from a new template associated with the new aspect ratio of the slide. Any content and/or properties of the old background objects on the slide are copied to the corresponding background objects on the dimensionally converted slide.

  • Patent number: 9517577
Abstract: A lubricating system indirectly applies a bladder release agent to a green tire and cures the green tire in a tire curing machine. The system includes a deposition device and a curing bladder. The deposition device directly applies bladder release agent on to a deposition bladder. The deposition bladder is inflated within the green tire in order to deposit the bladder release agent on to an inner surface of the green tire. The curing bladder subsequently receives the green tire with bladder release agent deposited therein and cures the green tire.

  • Publication number: 20160333465
Abstract: A method for use in a physical vapor deposition coating process includes depositing a ceramic coating material from a plume onto at least one substrate to form a ceramic coating thereon, and during the deposition, rotating the at least one substrate at rotational speed selected with respect to deposition rate of the ceramic coating material onto the at least one substrate.

  • Patent number: 9418068
Abstract: Technologies are described herein for converting presentations between differing slide dimensions and aspect ratios. A scaling factor is calculated from the difference between the original dimensions of the slide and the new dimensions of the converted slide. Next, the content objects on the slide are scaled based on the scaling factor such that the aspect ratio of the content object is maintained. Finally, the content objects are repositioned on the slide in order to maintain a relative distance between the position of the content object and the center of the slide.

  • Patent number: 9354779
Abstract: A presentation program provides a graphical user interface that includes a theme gallery and a theme variation gallery. Users can apply a theme to a slide by selecting a theme thumbnail image. Once selected, a corresponding set of theme variations are indicated in the theme variation gallery using theme variation thumbnail images. Users can apply the desired theme variation by selecting the theme variation thumbnail image. Once selected, the theme variation is applied to the slide. A theme variation family identifier is stored in the slide file that allows subsequent identification of the theme, and allows a presentation program to subsequently identify theme variations for display on the theme variation gallery. A file structure is identified that allows backwards compatibility so that a presentation file of a slide with theme variations can be opened by an earlier version of a presentation program that does not implement theme variations.

  • Patent number: 9305385
Abstract: An animation timeline is analyzed to determine one or more discrete states. Each discrete state includes one or more animation effects. The discrete states represent scenes of a slide in a slide presentation. The concepts of scenes allows user to view a timeline of scenes, open a scene, and direct manipulate objects in the scene to author animations. The animations can include motion path animation effects, which can be directly manipulated utilizing a motion path tweening method. To aid in direct manipulation of a motion path of an object, a ghost version of the object can be shown to communicate to a user the position of the object after a motion path animation effect that includes the motion path is performed. The ghost version may also be used to show a start position when a start point is manipulated.

  • Patent number: 9200662
Abstract: A fastener pin has a head at a topmost end that is the greatest diameter of the fastener. A shoulder extends downward from the head and includes a bottom surface for displacing material of a host object. A broaching section of rectangular lateral cross-section is located immediately below the displacer by cutting a rectangular profile into a round installation hole in the host object. Immediately below the broaching section is a tapered tip at a bottommost end which may be in the shape of a rectangular pyramid rotated radially out of alignment with the remainder of the other fastener features which all have parallel side edges. This individual fastener is one of a series of substantially identical pins attached toe-to-head at severable joints in a continuous string of fasteners.

  • Patent number: 9107772
Abstract: A method and apparatus for filling an expandable in-ear device having in-flow and out-flow canals including a plurality of chambers with elastic membranes in which the components of a settable polymer are held under high relative pressure. The component chambers are connected to a common mixing element which mixes the components before they are applied to the in-flow canal of an in-ear device. A sealed relief chamber is connected to the out-flow canal of the in-ear device and receives excessive mixed compound as it exits the in-ear device. The relief chamber is in contact with the elastic membranes of the component chambers such that when the elastic membranes contract the pressure in the relief chamber decreases, maintaining the pressure within a pre-determined pressure range.

  • Patent number: 9086086
Abstract: A panel fastener is comprised of two separately formed interacting parts: a panel retainer and an actuator pin. The retainer is fashioned from sheet metal using progressive stamping technology. The retainer and pin work together to create a fastener for securing two panels together that can semi-permanently snap into the first panel and then be clamped onto and then selectively removed from the second panel. Attachment to the second panel is obtained by expanding and later released by contracting the legs of the retainer by rotating a cammed expander pin between self-locking positions. A head of the expander pin can be configured for hand actuation, tool-only actuation, or both. The retainer is fashioned from sheet metal using progressive stamping technology.
