  • Publication number: 20070090476
Abstract: A surface-emission cathode formed on an insulating surface having cantilevered, i.e. “undercut,” electrodes. Suitable insulating surfaces include negative electron affinity (NEA) insulators such as glass or diamond. The cathode can operate in a comprised vacuum (e.g., 10?7 Torr) with no bias on the electrodes and low vacuum electric fields (e.g., at least 10 V cm?1). Embodiments of the present invention are inexpensive to fabricate, requiring lithographic resolution of approximately 10 micrometers. These cathodes can be formed over large areas for use in lighting and displays and are suitable for satellite applications, such as cathodes for tethers, thrusters and space-charging neutralizers.

  • Publication number: 20070061971
Abstract: A medical examination table is provided. The medical examination table comprises a base providing a storage area, a patient support movable independent of the base between a lowered position and a raised position, and a lift mechanism coupled to the patient support for moving the patient support between the lowered position and the raised position. The patient support comprises a backrest and a seat. Movement of the patient support independent or separately from the base and without interfering with the storage areas within the base may allow for the efficient use of the examination table as a storage area.

  • Publication number: 20050140103
Abstract: A carrying bag for a folding chair, which bag includes a retractable handle and is mounted on wheels whereby the bag can be pulled or pushed along a surface. Legs are mounted to the base of the bag, opposite the wheels, to provide support when the bag is resting in an upright position. Plural pockets are disposed on the outer surface of the bag for carrying items of various sizes therein. The open top of the bag is provided with a drawstring whereby the top may be closed to secure the chair therein.

  • Publication number: 20050067875
Abstract: A linkage mechanism for an adjustable arm assembly. The linkage assembly may be used to support an object, such as a headrest for use in connection with an examination table. The linkage mechanism provides structure to interlock or disengage two adjoining arm sections. The linkage mechanism controls relative movement of two adjoining arm sections without affecting the movement of non-adjoined sections or the headrest. The linkage mechanism further provides friction retention means so that the adjoining arms will retain their relative position to one another even if they are not in an interlocked position.
